WHAT IS Tills DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief ut night It steals In upon
n unawares. Miny persons have pains
about the chest midships, and sometimes
In tho bick. Tlioy feci dull mid sleepy.;
the mouth 1ms u bail tustc. especially In
in tho inoinlui;. A soitof sticky slime
collects about tho teeth. Tho appetite is
jioor. Tlieio Is u feeling like a heavy
ioul on the stomach; sometimes u fnlnt
nil gone bens.itlon sit the pit of the
stomach which food docs not sit Isfy.
The eyes me sunken, tho hands and fc.t
become cold mid feel clnuimy. Aflei n
while a coiit;h sets in at Hist diy, but
aftei a few months it is attended w itli :i
giccnlsli coloured epectoratlon. The
allllctcd one feels tiled all the while, and
sleep does not seem to nflbrtl any lost.
After n time lie becomes ncivous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore,
boding. There is a giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation In tho head when
t rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
' costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
the blond becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of the eyes become tinged
w Ithyellow, the urlnu is scanty mid high
coloured, depositing it bcdimcnl niter
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
ta3to; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the isinu
becomes impaired with spots before tho
eyes; there is a feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
loins are In turn present. It is thought
tint nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of Its arlul
forms. It his been found that medic it
nun luuo mistaken tho nituie of this
disease. .Some have treated It for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disi ase, etc.,
but noiiQ of the various kinds otlieat
nieiit hnvo been attended with success,
because the remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
mgans, and upon the stomach as well;
for in Dy.spcpsia (for this Is lc.illy what
the disease is) all of these organs pai take
of this disease mid require a remedy
that will net upon all at tho same time.
Seigcl's Cuiativ e Syrup acts like achauu
in this ( lass of complaints, giving almost
liiiinedialed relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in the coin,
iiiunity wheie they lho show in what
estimation the article is held.
