VHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT 18
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief at night It steals in upon
in unawares. Many persons have palti9
nbout tho client mid sides, ond sometimes
In the back. Thcv feci dull mid lecpy ;
the mouth Ins a bad taste, cspcclilly in
in tho morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. The appetite Is
poor. There Is a feeling like u hcay
load on the stomach; sometime a faint
all.gone srcnsullon al the pit of the
stomach which food does not s-itlsfy.
The eyes aio sunken, (lie hands unci fed
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while a cough arts In at first diy, but
after a few mouths it is attended with it
greenish -coloured cpectorntlon. Tho
ntriicted one feels tlied all the while, and
sleep does not seem to nll'ord any rc-t.
After a time ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil foie
bo 11iic;s. There is a giddiness, a so:t of
whirling sensation (n tho head when
rising up Midden I v. Tho bowels heroine
costive; the skinta dry and hot at times;
the blood becomes thick and Magnant;
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho ui luo is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment after
standing. There is frequently n spitting
up of tno food, sometimes with a four
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
taite; this is fiequcnlly attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vM in
becomes impaired with spots before the
ovoj; thero is a fcdlnc ol great prostra
tion jind weakness. All of theo symp
toms are In tmn present. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
h:i3 this disease in some of Its varlul
forms. It has been found that medic il
men hae mistaken the nature of this
dLca:c. Some liavo treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but nono of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with sucresa,
becauso the icmedy should be such us to
act h irninnlously upon each one of the-e
oigaus, and upon tho stomach as will;
for In Dyspepsia (for this is really whu
the disease is) all of these organs part ike
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at the same time.
