WHAT
IS THIS DISEASE THAT
IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief at night it steals ill upon
U3 unaunic-i. Jinny persons havo pains
about the client, nnd sides, and sometimes
In the back. Thoy feci dull and sleepy;
the mouth has a bad taste, especially 'in
in thu morning. A son of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. The appetite is
poor. There is a feeling like u heavy
load on the stomncli; sometimes A faint
nll.gonc sensation at thu pit of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes tiro sunken, the hands and foot
become cold anil feel clammy. After n
while a cough sets in at llrst dry, but
after a few months it is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. The
nlllictcd one feels tired all the while, and
sleep does not seem to nllbrd any rest.
After a time he becomes nervous, in lia
ble, and gloomy, ami lias evil foie.
boilings. There is n giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation in the head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; the skin is dry and hot at times;
thu blood becomes thick and stagnant;
thu Vthitcs of tlio eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment niter
standing. There Is Iruqucntly a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes with a sour
tistc, and sometimes with a sweetish
taste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; tho vision
becomes Impaired with spots before the
eyc3; thcro Is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms are In turn present. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men hava mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some havo treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
hut none of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with success,
because tho remedy should be such ns to
act harmoniously upon cacli one of theso
oi gang, and upon the stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease Ls) all of these organs partake
of this disease and requlio n remedy
thnt will act upon all nt the sumo time.
Selgcl's Curative Syrup acts liku a charm
in tuis class of complaints, giving almost
inimedlated relief. ThefolTowingletlors
fiom chemists of standlug In the com.
m unity whcie they live show in what
estimation thu article is held.
John Archcc, Ilarthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to all
who may ' be suffering fiom liver or
stomncli complaints, having the test!,
mony of my customers, who have derived
great ucnetlt from the Syrup ami Pills.

Ilobt. Lalne, Mclksham: I can well
recommend tho Cumtlvo Syrup from
having proved its elhcacy for indigestion
myself.
Frlockhoini, Arbioatli, Forfai.shiie,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year 1
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Scigel's Syrup. I havo ery much
pleasure in still bearing testimony to the
veiy satisfactory results of the famed
Syiupand Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with me, but Mother Sclgcl has
had a steady sale ever Blnce I com.
monced, and is btill iu as great demand
ns when I Hist began to sell the modi,
cine. The cures which have come under
my notice are chiclly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain miulster in my neighbour,
hood says It is tho only thing which has
benefited him and restored him to his
noimal condition of health after being
unable to preach for u consldorablu
length of time. I could mention also a
gicat many other cases, but spneo would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to eostivencss, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Scigel's
Pills are tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which is very annoying.
Mother Selgcl's Pills do not leave a bad
after-effect. I lmvu much pleasure in
commending again to Buffering human,
ity Mother Selgcl's medicines, which
aio no sham. If this letter is of any
service you can publish it,
Youis very truly.
(Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist.
