WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like n thief at night It Meals in upon
111 unawares. Many persons have pains
about the chest and sides, and sometimes
lu the had:. They feel dull nnd sleepy:
mu iiiuuiii 11:1111 u.ui lusie, especially 111
in the morning. A sort 0 sticky slime
collects nbotit the teeth. The appetite is
poor. There Is n feeling like 11 heavy
load 011 the stomach; sometimes n faint
ult-gone sensation at the pit of the
stomach which food does not satisfy.
The eyes arc sunken, the hands nnd feet
become cold and feci clammy. After a
whllo a cough sets In at llrnt diy, but
after a few months it is attended with u
greenish coloured expectoration. The
iilllicted one feels tired all the while, and
sloop does not seem to nllbrd any rest.
After n time he becomes nervous, iirlta
ble.,:iud gloomy, and has evil fore
bodings. There is a giddiness, nsoit of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; the skin is dry and lint at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyc3 becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty nnd high
coloured, depositing 11 sediment alter
standing. There Is frequently a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
tasto; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes impaired witli spots before tho
eves; there is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All oftheso symp
loins are in turn present. It is thought
Unit nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of its varied
forms. It lias been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Sonic liavo treated Itforn liver
complaint, others for kldnoy disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
becauso tho remedy should bo such ns to
act harmoniously upon each ono of these
01 gans, and upon tho stomach ns well ;
ior in Dyspepsia (for tills is really what
the disease is) all of these organs partake
of tliis disease and require a remedy
that will act upon nil at tho same time.
Selgcl's Curntivc Syrup acts like acharm
in this class of complaints, giving nltnost
inimediatcd relief. The following lettcis
from chemists of standing in tho 00111.

estimation tho article is held.

sent you a letter lecommendlng Mother
Selgel's Syrup. 1 liavo very much
pleasure in still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed

as when I llrst began to soil the medi.

A certain minister 111 my neigiiuour

benefited him and restored him to Ills
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for n consldoroblo
