IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief nt night It stculs lu upon
us unawares. Many persons have pains
about the chest ami sides, and sometimes
In the back. They feel dull and blcepy ;
the mouth has a bad taste, especially In
In tho morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. The appetite is
poor. There Is a feeling like u heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
all-gono sensation at the pit of tho
stomach which food does not satisfy.
Tho eyes aro sunken, the hands and foot
becomo cold nnd feel clnnuny. After a
while a cough sets In nt first dry, but
after n few months It Is nltendcd with a
greenish coloured expectoration. Tho
nfllictcd one feels tired all tho while, and
sleep does not seem to afford any rest.
After a llmo ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, ami has evil fore
boilings. Thcro is a giddiness, u fcort of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels becomo
costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes Lccomo tinged
"with yellow, tho urlno is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment nftpr
standing. Tliero is frequently a spitting
up of lfia food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
taste; this Is frequently nttended with
palpitation of tho heart; tho vision
become impaired with spots before the
0V03; there is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All ot the3o symp
toms aro In turn present. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our populmfon
has this disease in sonic of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistakcu tho nature of this
diseaic. Some linvo treated itfora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with success,
becauso the remedy should bo such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
organs, and upon tho stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for Huh Is really what
tho disease is) nil of thc30 organs partake
of this diseaso and require a remedy
that will act upon nil at the sanio time.
Selgel's Curative Syrup acts like acharm
. in tills class of complaints, giving almost
immediated relief. Thufollowiug letters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
munlty where they live show in what
estimation tho articlo is held.
John Archer, llarthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to nil
who may bo sulloriiig from liver or
stomach complaints, having tho test!,
moiiy of my customers, who have del Ived
great bcnellt from the Syrup and Pills.
Tho salo Is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 141, York Street,
Belfast: I havo sold a largo quantity,
and tho parties havo testified to its being
what you represent it.
J. S. Metcalfe, Cj, II ighgato, Kendal:
I havo always great pleasure in recom
mending tho Curatlvo Syrup, for I havo
never known a caso hi which It has not
relieved or cured, and I havo told many
Hobt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Andovcr: I havo always take a great
interest in your medicines and I havo
recommended them, as I havo found
numerous cases of euro from their use.
Thomas Chapman, West Auckland :
I find that the trade steadily Increases.
I sell more of your medicines than any

Friockhcim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Selgel's Syrup. I havo very much
plcasuro In still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dio out Y 1th me, but Mother Scigel has
had a steady salo over slnco I com
menced, and is still in as great demand
ns when I first began to sell tho medi
cine. Tho cures which havo com'o under
my notico nro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says It is tho only thing wklch has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
uuablo to preach for n considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much nddictcd to costiveness, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgel's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills causo a
reaction which is very annoying.
Motlter Selgel's Pills do not leave a bad
aftcr-eilect. I have much pleasure In
commending again to sutlcring human
ity Mothor Selgel's medicines, which
nro no sham. If this letter Is of any
service you can publish it.
Youis very truly.
