IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a thief at night It steals lu upon
in unawares. Many persons have pains
about tho chest anil Bides, and sometimes
In tho bauk. Tlioy feel dull and sleepy;
tho mouth hat n bad taste, especially in
In tho morning. A sort of sticky sllmo
collects about the teeth. Thuappetlle Is
poor. There Is a feeling like heavy
load on the stomach; sometimes a faint
all-gone sensation at tho pit of tho
stomach which food does not satisfy.
The eyes aro sunken, the bauds and fe.t
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while a cough sets In at llrM. dry, but
after a few months It Is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. Tho
ntlllctcd one feels tired all tho while, and
sleep docs not seem to afford any lest.
After a time ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, aud gloomy, and lm evil fore
bodings. There Is a giddiness, a sort of
whirling sensation in tho head vhcn
vising up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
the blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. There is Irequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
taste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with snots before the
eyes; thcro Is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms aro In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this dlscaso In some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistaken the naturo of this
disease. Somo have treated It for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of tho various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
because tho remedy should bo such ns to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigans, and upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
tho disease Is) all of theso organs partako
of this dlscaso and require a remedy
that will net upon all at tho sanio lime.
Selgel's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
Immcdlated relief. Thefollowinglcttcis
from chemists of standing lu tho com.

estimation the nrticle is held.
John Archer, Ilarthlll, near Sheffield:

Geo. A. Webb, 141, York Street,

what you represent it.
J. S. Metcalfe, 53, Highgale, Kendal:
I havo always great pleasure in rccoin

Frlockhoim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1832. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Selgel's Syrup. I have very much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho fumed
Syrup and Pills. Mostpatent medicines
dlo out with mo, but Mother Soigcl has
had a steady salo over slnco I com.

cine. The cures which have come under
my notico aro chiefly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour,
hood says it is tho only thing wklch has
benefited him aud restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach for u considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
Is very much addicted to costlvcncss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgel's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leave a bad
aftcr.ofl'ect. I havo much pleasuro In
commending again to Buffering human,
ity Mother Selgel's medicines, which
nro no sham. If this letter Is of any
scrvlco you can publish it.
Yours very truly.
