WHAfls THfs DISEASE THaTIs"
COMING UPON US?
Like- u thief nt night It steals In upon
uh unawares. Many persons have pains
about the chest and sides, aud sometimes
in the hack. They feel dull and sleepy;
the mouth has a bad taste, especially In
in the morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about thctccth. Theappctllc Is
poor. There Is n feeling like n heavy
load on the stomach; 8ometimc3 a faint
nlhgouo sensation at the pit of tho
stomach which food does not satisfy.
The eyes are sunken, the hands and feet
become rold and feel dummy. After a
while a cough sets in at llrst diy, but
nflcr a few mouths it Is attended with a
greenish colouicd cpectorntlon. Tho
ulHlctcd one feels tired all tho while, and
sleep does not seem to afford any lost.
After u tlmo ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore,
boilings. Thcro'is a giddiness, a soi t of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. Theio is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
taste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
ores; there is a feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toins aro In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our populutioii
has tills disease income of its arled
lorms. It has been found that mcdic.il
men have mistaken tho nature of thi3
disease. Some have treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been nttended with success,
because the remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigans, and upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) all of tho3c organs partake
of this disease and requite a remedy
that will act upon all at tho same time.
Selgel's Curative Syuip acts like acharm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
iiiiincdiatedielief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in the com
munity whcio they live siiow In what
estimation the artielo is held.
John Archer, Ilaithiil, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to all
who may be sullering from liver or
stomach complaints, having tho testi
mony of inycuatoineis, whohavodeiivcd
great bouctlt fiom the Syi up and Pills.
The sale is incieaslng wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 141, York btreet,
Uelfast: I havo sold a large quantity,
and the paitles have tcstillcd to its being
what you repiesentit.
J. S. .Metcalfe, Co, Ilighgato, Kendal:
I have always great pleasure in recom
mending tho Cuiatlvo Syrup, for I have
never known a case in which it has not
relieved or cuied, aud I have sold many
giosscs.
Uobt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Audovcr; I have always take a great
Inteicst in your medicines aud T hac
recommended them, as 1 have found
numerous cases of euro from their use.
Thomas Cliiipmaii, West Auckland:
I find that the trade steadily inci cases.
I sell moio of your medicines than any
other kind. .
X. Darroll, Cluii, Salop: All who buy
it are pleased, and recommend it.
Jos. Ualkwlll, A. P. S., Kingsbiidgc:
Tho public seem to ajipieclato their
great value.
A. Armstcad, Market Street, Dalton.ln
Furncss: It is needless for mo to say
that your valuable medicines havo great
sale in this district greater than any
other I know of, giving great tatls
faction.
Robt. Laine, Molksham: I can well
iccoinmcnd tho Curative Syrup from
having pioved ilselhcacy for indigestion
' myselt.
Jj'rlockhcim, Aibroath, Foifaudilrc,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter lccommendlng Mother
Selgel's Syruii. I havo ery much
pleasure In still beailng testimony to the
very satisfactory results of tho fumed
Syrup and Pills. Mostp.itcnt medicines
die out with me, but Mother Seigel has
nail u steauy Bale ever Binco l com.
meuced, and is still in as great demand
as when I llrst began to sell the medi
cine. Tho cm cs which have come under
my notlco aro chlelly thoso of liver
complaint ami goneral debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says It is thu only thing wklch has
benefited him and restored him to his
noi mal coudltlon of health after boing
unable to picaeh for a cousldciable
length of time. I could mention also u
gicat many other eases, but spaco would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costlvencss, or
constipation, llnds tnat Mother Selgel's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
ir-actlon which Is vciy annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leave a b.ul
aftcr-ellect, I havo much plcasuio in
commending again to sullering human
ity Mother Selgel's medicines, which
aro no sham. If this letter is of any
seivioo you can publish It.
Youis very truly.
(Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist.
A. J. White, Esq.
ICtli August, 18SJ.
Dear Sir, I wiito to tell you that Mr.
Henry Hilller, of Yntcsbury, Wilts, in.

tonn of indltrostlon for unwards of four
years, anil took no end ol doctor's incill.
dIiio without the slightest benellt, and
