WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like a tiller at night it steals in upon
in unawares. Many persons hnve pains
ubout the chest and sldci. and sometimes
In the back. They feci (lull and sleepy;
the mouth has n bad tusic, especially lit
In tho morning. A soil of sticky slime
collects about tho teeth. Thu appetite is
poor. There Is a feeling like u heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
all.gonc sensation nt the pit of tho
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes arc sunken, the hands nnd fovt
become cold and frel clammy. After n
while n cough sett In :it llrst dry, but
after ii few mouths It Is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. The
atlllctcd one feels tired all the while, nnd
sleep docs not seem to ntlbrd any rest.
After ft time he becomes nervous, Irrita
ble, and gloomy, nnd has evil fore
boilings. There is a giddiness, n sort of
whirling sensation Tn tho head when
lising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; tho akin is dry audhot nttlnuvs;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
w itli yellow, tho urine is scanty nnd high
coloured, depositing a sediment after
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
taste; tills is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
oyes; tlicro Is a feeling of grcnt prostra
tion nnd weakness. All of those symp
toms uio in tuin present. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of Its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men luu a mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Sonic have treated It for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the xirlous kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with succcs,
because the lcmcdy should bo such as to
net harmoniously upon each one of theso
oi guns, and upon the stomach as well;
for In Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) all of these organs p.irtako
of this disease and require a remedy
that will net upon all at the same time.
Scigcl's Curative Syrup acts liko a charm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
immcutntcurciici. TJicioiiowingicucrs
from chemists of standing in the com
munity where they live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Ilarthlll, near Shcfllcld:
I can confidently rccomhiend it to all
who may be guttering from liver or
stomach complaints, having Hie testi
mony of my customers, w ho havo dei I ved
great bonellt from the Syrup and Pills.
Tho sale is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York Street,
Belfast: I havo sold a largo quantity,
and tho parties havo tcstlfledto its being
what you represent It.
J. S. Metcalfe, C5, Ilighgato, Kendal:
I have always great pleasure in recom
mending the Curative Syrup, for I havo
never known a case in which it has not
relieved or cured, and I havo sold many
glosses.
Robt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Andovcr: I havo always take a great
Inteicst in your medicines and I hae
recommended tlicni, nb I have found
numerous cases ot euro lrom tncir use.
Thomas Chapman, West Auckland :
J And that the trade steadily increases.
I sell more of your medicines than any
other kind.
N. Darroll, Cliui, Salop: All who buy
it are pleased, and iccoininend it.
Jos. lUlkwill, A. P.S., Kiugsbridgc:
The public seem to appreciate their
great value.
A. Armstcad, Market Street, Dalton.ln
Furncss: U is needless for mo to say
that your valuable medicines havo great
sale in this district greater than any
other I know of, giving grcnt satis
faction.
Ilobt. Lainc, Mclksham: I can well
recommend tho Curative Syrup from
having proved its clhcacy for indigestion
myselt.
Friockhclm, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
scut you a letter lceommcndine; Mother
Scigcl's Syrup. I liavo cry much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to tho
ery satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dlo out with mo, but Mother Scigel lius
had a steady salo over since 1 com
menced, and Is btill In as great demand
as when I llrst bogau to sell tho medi.
cine. Tho cures which havo come under
my notlco aio chiefly those of liver
complaint nud general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says it is tho only thing which. has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for a considerable
length of time. 1 could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
Is very much addicted to costlvcncss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Scigcl's
Pills nro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which is very annoying.
Mollior Scigcl's Pills do not leave n bad
nficr.clVcct. I hnvo much plcusurc in
commending again to suffering human.
Ity Mother Selgcl's medicines, which
aro no sham. If this letter Is of any
hcivico j ou can publish It.
Yours very truly.
(Signed) William S, Glass, Chemist.
