WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
MMIMP. IIDDM IIS9
W L.Ike a llilet at night It steals lu upon
us unawares, .uuuj iisiruinuiuMii
about the chest ami sides, and sometimes
In the back. They feol dull and sleepy;
the mouth has a bad taste, especially in
in the morning. A b'ovt of sticky sllmo
collects about thotecth. Theappctllc Is
poor. There Is a feeling like a heavy
lo.ul on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
all-gone sensation at the pit of tho
ttoinucli which food does not satisfy.
The eyes aro sunken, the hands and feet
become cold nutt feel clammy. After a
while u cough sets in at first diy, but
after h few months it is attended with u
greenish coloured epcctorntlon. The
allllcted one feels tired all the while, and
sleep does not seem to n fiord any rest.
After it time he becomes nervous, irritn
blc, and gloomy, and has evil fore
boilings. There Is a giddiness, a sort of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels becomo
costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
thu blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, the urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. There is troquently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
Viste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eve3; there fs a feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms aro In turn present. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease In some of Its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men liavo mistaken the nature of this
disease. Somo have Heated It fora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
because the remedy should be such as to.
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oi gans, ami upon tho stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for tills is really what
the disease is) all of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at the samo time.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
In tills class of complaints, giving almost
Immediated relief. The following lctteis
f i om chemists of standing in the com.
munlty where they live show In what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Harthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to all
who may bo sutterlng fiom liver or
stomach complaints, having thu testi
mony of my customers, who have derived
great licnellt from tho Syrup and Pills.'
The sale is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York Street,
Belfast: I luivo sold a largo nuautltv.
and the parties have testified to its being
what you represent it.
J. S. .Metcalfe, 55, Highgate, Kendal:
I have always great pleasure in recom.
mending the Curative Syrup, for I havo
never known a 'case lu which It has not
lellovcd or cured, and I have sold many
grosses.
ltobt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Andovcr: I havo always take a great
inteiest In your medicines and I have
recommended thcin, as I havo found
numeious cases of euro from their use.
Thomas Chapman, West Auckland:
J Hud that the trade steadily Increases.
I sell more of your medicines than any
other kind.
ft .N. Diirroll, until, Salop: All who uuy
fj- It aro pleased, and lecommcud It.
ff Jos. uiiKwm, A. r. b., Kingsuriugo:
Tho public seem to appieciatc their
great value.
A.Armstead, Market Street, Daltou-ln-Furncss:
It is needless for mo to suy
that your valuable medicines havo greut
sale in this district greater than any
other I know of, giving great satis
foctiou.
Kobt. Laine, Melksham: I can well
recommend tho Curative Syrup from
having prowd its elhcacy for indigestion
mysclt.
Frloekhoim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 2:), 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Seigcl's Syrup. I havo ery much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to the
very satisfactory lesults of the famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with me, but Mother Selgcl has
had a steady sale ever since I com
menced, and is still in as great demand
as when I first began to sell the medi
cine. The cures which have come under
my notice arc chlclly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister In my neighbour,
hood says It Is the only thing which has
benellted him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for n considerable
length of nine. J. couici mention aiso a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much oddictcd to costlvcncss, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Soigers
Pills arc tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Seigcl's Pills do not leave a bad
after-effect. I havo much pleasure in
commending again to sull'ering human,
ity Mother Seigcl's medicines, which
aie no sham. It' this letter is of any
i-ervico you can publish It.
Yours very tiuly.
(Signed) William S. Glass, Chemist.
