"what is this disease that is
coming upon us?
Like a thief at night it steals iu upon
us unawares. Many persons have pains
about the chest and sides, and sometimes
In tho back. Tlioy feel dull and sleepy j
the mouth has a bad taste, especially in
iu the morning. A sort of sticky sllmo
collects about the teeth. The appetite is
poor. There is a feeling like a heavy
loud on tho stomach j sometimes a faint
all-gone sensation at tho pit of the
stomach which food does not satisfy.
The eyes ate sunken, the hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while n cough sets In ut first dry, but
after ti few mouths it Is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. Tho
afflicted one feels tired nil tho while, nnd
sleep does not seem to afford any rest.
After a time he becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore
bodlngs. There is a giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; the skin is dry and hot at times;
the blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of the eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urine Is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. There is lrequcntly a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, nnd sometimes with a sweetish
lastc; this is frequently nttended with
palpitation of tho heait; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
eyes; there is a feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
tom3 are In ttun present. It is thought
that nearly one-thhd of our population
has this disease In some of its 'urled
forms. It has been found that medical
men navo mistaken tuc nature 01 tins
disease. Some have treated ltfora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of tho various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
because the remedy tdiould be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
ovgans, and upon the stomach as well;
for In Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) all of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at the same time.
Selgcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
Immediated relief. Thcfollowinglettcrs

estimation the article is held.

Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Sclgel's Syrup. I havo very much
pleasuie in still beaiiug testimony to tho
very batlsfnctory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dlo out with me, but Motlier Scigel has
had a steady salo ever sinco I com

as when I first began to sell tho medl.
cine. The cures, which havueomo under
my notice aro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint and general debility.
, A certain minister iu my neighbour,
hood says It Is tho only thing wVdch.has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach (or a considerable
length of time. 1 could mention also a
great mauy other cases, but space would
not allow. A nenr friend of mine, who
Is very much nddlcted to costivencss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgcl's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Selgcl's Pills do not leave a bad
nftcr.ofl'cet. I have much pleasuie iu
commending again to suffering human.
Ity Mother Selgcl's medicines, which
are no sham. If this letter Is of any
service you can publish it.
Yours very truly.
