WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like ii llilef at night It steals In upon
us unawares. Many porious liuvc pains
iibout tho chest nml sides, nntl sometimes
in tho back. They feci dull nnd sleepy ;
the mouth has u bad taste, especially in
In tho morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about thotcetli. Thenppctlto Is
poor. There Is n feeling llko n heavy
load on the stomach , sometimes a faint
all."ono sensation at the pit of tho
Btomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tho eyes nro sunken, tho hands nnd foot
become cold and feel clammy. After n
while ii cough sets in at ilrt diy, but
after n few months It Is attended with n
greenish coloured expectoration. The
nlUlctcd one feels tired all the while, nnd
Bleep does not seem to n fiord any rest.
After u time ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and ha3 evil fore
boilings. Thcro Is u glddlncs, a sou of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; tho skin Is dry mid hot at limes;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of the eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urlno is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment niter
standing. There is licqucntly a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes with a tour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
laste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyes; thcro is a feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of those symp
toms arc in turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men havo mistaken tho unturo of this
disease. Somo havo treated itfora liver
complaint, others for klducy disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with success,
because tho remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each ouoof these
01 gans, and upon tho stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disenso i.s) all of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at tho sumo lime.
Selgcl's Curntivo Syrup acts llko acharm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
Immcdiatcd relief. Thofoliowinglctters
from chemists of standing In the com.
munity where they llvo show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Harthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend It to all

Frlockhcim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 2'3, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Scigel's Syrup. 1 havo very much
pleasure in bill! bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dlo out w ith me, but Mother Sclgel has
hud u steady sale over sdncc I com.
" nicnccd, and is btill In as great demand
as when I first began to soil tho medi
cine. Tho cures which havo conio under
my notlco arc chiefly llioso of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour,
hood says it is tho only thing wkich has
bentlUcd him and restored film to Ills
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention also n
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
ii very much addicted to costivencss, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Seigel's
Pills nro tho only pills which suit ills
complaint. All other pills cnuso a
reaction which Is very aunoying.
Mother Scigel's Pills do not leave a bad
after-effect. I have much pleasuro in
commending ugalu to buffering human.
Ity Motlior Scigel's medicines, which
aro no sham. It this letter Is of any
scivlco you can publish It. (
Yours very truly.
