WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like u thief at night it steals In upon
us unawares. 3lauy person have pains
ubout the chest ami sliics and sometimes
in the back. They feci (lull and sleepy;
the mouth lias a bad taste, especially In
in the morning. A soit of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. Thu appetite is
poor. There is a feeling llko n heavy
load on thu stomach; sometimes a faint
all.gouo tens.itlon at the pit of the
ytomnch which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes arc sunken, the hands and fcU
Income cold and feel dummy. After a
while a cough ets In at first diy, but
aftei n few months It is attended with a
greenish coloured cxpectorntlou. The
atlllcted one feels tired all the while, and
sleep does not reem to afford any rest.
After n time he becomes nervous irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore,
boilings. There Is a giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
rostlve; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urlue Is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. Thoic is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
laste; this Is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the lsion
becomes Impaired with spots before tho
ccs; there is n reeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these syrap
toms are In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of Its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistaken tho unturo of this
disease. Some havo treated It for n liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with succcs,
because the remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigani, nnd upon tho stomach as well;
for In Dyspepsia (for this Is really what
tho disease Is; all of theso organs partake
.of this disease and requlro a remedy
that will act upon all at tho same time.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like acharm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
immcdlatcd relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in the com.
munlty where they live show in what
estimation the article is held.
Johu Archer, Harthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend It to all
who may bo suucrlng from liver or
stomach complaints having tho testi

grcnt benefit from the Syrup and Pills.
The sale Is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York Street,
Belfast: I havo sold a largo quantity,
and tho parlies have testified to its being

J. S. Metcalfe, 55, Highgato, Kendal:
I have alwavs gieat pleasure in recom.

Frtockhoim, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 2D, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year 1
sent you a. letter lccommending Mother
Seigcl's Syrup. I havo cry much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to the
ery satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with mo, but Mother Selgel has
had a steady sale ever since l com
mencod, and is still In as great demand
as when I first began to sell tho medi.
cine. The cures which have come under
my notlco aro chlctly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in ray neighbour
hood says It is the only thing which has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention nlso a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
Is very much addicted to co3tlvencss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgel's

reaction which is very annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leavo a bad
iiftcr-cfTect. I havo much pleasure In
commending again to sull'erlng human.
Ity Mother Selgel's medicines, whlrh
arc no sham. If this letter is of any

Yours very truly.
