WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMIHC UPON US?
Like n thief at night it steals in upon
us unawares. Mnny perrons have pains
about the chest and sides, and sometimes
in the back. They feci dull and sleepy;
the mouth lias a bad taste, especially In
in the morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. The appetite Is
poor. There is a feeling llko a heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes u faint
all-gone sensation at tho pit of tho
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tito eyes are sunken, the hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while u cough sets In at first dty, but
after a few months it is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. The
alllicted one feels tired all the while, and
Bleep does not seem to nllbrd any rest.
After n time he becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore
boilings. There is n giddiness, a sou of
whirling sensation In tho head when
vising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costivo; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellowythowluc is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. There is frequently u spitting
up of the food, sometimes w ith a sour
taste, nnd sometimes with a sweetish
ia9to; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyes; there Is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms are In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has tills disease in somo of its varied
forms. It lias been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nnturo of this
disease. Somo have treated it for a liver
complaint, others for klduey disease, etc.,
but nouo of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
because tho remedy should be such ns to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigans, and upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) all of these organs pai take
of this disease and require a remedy
that will net upon all at tlic same time.
Scigcl's Curative Syrup acts like achann
In this class of complaints, giving almost
liumcdintcd relief. Tbefollowinglctters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
niuuity where they live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Harthill, near Shcfllcld:
I can confidently recommend it to all
who may be sutVcrlng from liver or

great benefit from the Syrup and Pills.

Geo. A. Webb, 111, York Street,
Belfast: I havo sold a largo quantity,
and tho parties hno testified to its being
what you represent it.

Friockhclm, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
hent you a letter iccomincnding Mother
Soigel's Syrup. I have very much
pleasure hi still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with me, hut Mother Sclgcl has
had a steady sale ever since I com
lucnccd, and Is still In as great demand
as when I llrst began to sell tho modi
cine. Tho cuics which havecoino under
my notice lire chiefly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister In my neighbour,
hood says It is tho only thing wVleh has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach for a considerable
length of time. 1 could mention also a
great many other cases, hut spaco would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
Is very much addicted to costiveness, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgcl'a
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which is very annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leave a bad
nftcr.ell'ect. I havo much pleasure In
commending again to butloriug human,
ity Mother Scigcl's medicines, which
arc no sham. It this letter Is of auy
scivlcu you can publish It.
Yours very truly. .
