WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like n thief at night it steals In upon
us unawares. Many persons have pains
about the chest and side?, and sometimes
In the back. They feci dull and sleepy;
the mouth has a bad taste, especially ill
In the morning. A tort of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. Thenppetltu is
poor. There Is a feeling liko a heavy
load on the stomach; sometimes a faint
nil-gone sensation at the pit of the
stomach which food does not satisfy.
The eyes are MinUcu, the hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
-while a cough sets in at llrst diy, but
after a few months it Is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. The
nlllictcd ono feels tired all the while, and
sleep docs not seem to all'ord any rest.
After a time ho becomes nervous, Irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore,
boilings. There is a giddiness, u soit of
whirling sensation in the head when
rising up suddenly. The bow els become
costive; the skin is dry and hot at times;
the blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. Theic Is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with n sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
laste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
eyes; there is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms aro In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease In some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Somo have treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of tho various kinds of treat
incut havo been attended with success,
because the remedy bhould bo such ns to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
organs, and upon the stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) nil of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon nil at the same time.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
immcdlatcd relief. ThofolTowIngletters
from chemists of standing In the com.
niunity where they live show in what
estimation the article is held.
John Archer, Ilarthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to all

Sept. 2IJ, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
hent you n letter lecommendlng Mother
Sclgel's Syrup. I havo very much
pleasure in still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Mo3t patent medicines

had a steady salo ever sinco I com

as when I llrst began to sell tho medi
cine Tho cures wlilch havo como under
my notice aro chlclly those of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says It is the only thing which has
benefited him and restored him to, his
normal condition of health after being
unable to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great mauy other cases, but spaco would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costlvcncss, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Seigcl's
Pills arc tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills causo a
reaction wnicn is very annoying.
Mother Seigcl's Pills do not leavo a bad
after-effect. I have much pleasure in
commending again to sull'ering human,
ity Mother Seigcl's medicines, which
are no sham. If this letter is of any
service you can publish it.
Yours very truly.
