VHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
I.iko a tli It; f ut night It Meals In upon
in unawares. Many purtons have pains
about tliu chest iuhI sides, and sometimes
ln the linck. They feel dull nml sleepy;
fttho mouth bus u bid tnstc, especially in
"lh tliu morning. A port of sticky slime
collects about thoteclh. Thonppetlte U
poor. There Is a feeling llko u heavy
ioul on tho stomach; sometimes u fill lit
nll.gouc sensation ut tho pit of tho
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes arc sunken, the hands and feet
become cold ami feel dummy. After u
while n rough nets iu ut llrst dry, tout
after n few months It Is attended with a
grccnWh coloured expectoration. The
nllllcted one feels tired nil the while, and
sleep does not Boom to all'ord any lost.
After a time he becomes nervous, Inha
bit, mid gloomy, and has evil fore
boilings. Tliero is a giddiness, n sort of
whirling sensation In the head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costlvu; tho skin Is dry and hot at times;
the blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urlnu is scanty and high
coloured, depositing n sediment alter
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with ti sour
taste, mid sometimes with a sweetish
laste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; the vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyes; there is n feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of theso synip
toiiH arc in tuin present. It is thought
that nearly one-lhlid of our population
h:w this disease in some of its uirled
forms. It lias been found Hint nitdleil
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some have treated it fora lhcr
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but nono of the various kinds of treat
ment linvc been attended with success,
because the remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
oigans, and upon the stomach as well;
for iu Dyspepsia (for tills is really what
the disease is) all of these orgam partake
of this disease and require n remedy
that will act upon all at tho sumo time.

in tills class of complaints, giving almost

is very much addicted to costiveness, or
constipation, finds that Mother Seigel's
