IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Llko a thief nt night It steals In upon
us unawnrc3. Many persons have pains
, about tliu chest and sides, ami sometimes
' In the back. They feol dull mid sleepy;
the mouth has :i lud taste, especially in
hi the morning. A sort of sticky slimo
collects about the teeth. The appetite irf
poor. TIicio Is a feeling llko a heavy
load on the stomach; sometimes a faint
nll-gonu sensation at the pit of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes nrc sunken, the hands and foot
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while a cougli sets In nt first dry, hut
after a fow months It Is attended with a
greenish coloureir expectoration. 'Iho
alUlcted one feels tiled all the while, and
sleep does not seem to all'ord any rest.
After a tlmu ho becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has.evll foic.
boilings. There Is ft giddiness, ft sou of
whirling sensation in the head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; tlio skin is dry and hot nt times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes become tinged
with yellow, tho urluo is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment niter
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
insto; tills is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyes; there is n feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All ot tiicsu symp
loins are In turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease In some of its varied
forms. It has been found tint medical
men liavo mistaken the nature of this
disease. Some liavo treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with iucccss,
because tho remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of theso
oigans. and upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
tho disease is) all of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will net upon all nt the samo time.
Selgel's Curative Syrup acts llko a charm
in liils class of complaints, giving almost
Immediated relief. Tho following letters
from chemists of btanding In the com.
munity where they live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Ilarthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to nil
who may bo suffering from liver or
stomach complaints, having the testi
mony of my customers, who have derived
great benefit from tho Syrup and Pills.
' The sale Is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York btiect,
llolfust: I liavo sold a largo quantity,
and tho parties have testified to its being
what you represent it.
J. S. Mctcnlfc, 03, lligligato, Kendal:
I have always great pleasure in rccom.

I find that tho trade steadily increases.

Frlockhcim, Arbioath, Forfaishhc,
Sept. 23, 1832. Dear Sir, Last year I
bent you a letter recommending Mother
Selgel's Syrup. I have very much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dio out with mo, but Mother Selgcl has
had a steady sale ever sinco I com
menced, and Is still in as great demand
as when I first began to sell tho medi
cine. Tlio cuics which have come under
mv notlco tiro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain mluister In my neighbour,
hood says it Is. tho only thing which lias
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach for a consldoiablo
length of time. I could mention also a
great 'many other cases, hut space would
not nllow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costivencss, or
constipation, llnds that Mother Selgel's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit hla
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Selgel's Pills do not leave a bad
after-ollocl. I have much pleasure in
commending again to sutl'ering human
ity Mother Soigcl's medicines, which

Yours very truly.
