WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like n llilcf ;it night It stents hi upon
us unawares. Many persons linvo pains
about the chest and sides, and sometimes
In the back. They feel dull and sleepy;
the mouth itns bad table, especially in
In the morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about iholccth. The appetite is
poor. Tliciu is n feeling like n heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
nll.gono sensation at tho pit of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tho eyes nrc sunken, tho linnds and foot
become cold and feel clammy. After n
while ii cough sets In at first dry, but
after a few months it Is attended with u
greenish coloured expectoration. The
afflicted one feels Hied all tho while, and
sleep does not seem to afford any rest.
After a time he becomes nervous, Irrita
ble, nnd gloomy, and has evil fore-
boilings. There Is a giddiness, a soit of
whirling sensation In tho head when
rising up suddenly. The bowels become
costive; the skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urlno Is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a sediment alter
standing. There is frequently a spitting
up of the food, sometimes with a sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
laste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
eyes; there is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of these symp
toms aro In turn present. It Is thought
that ncnily one-third of our population
has this disease in some of its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men havo mistaken tho mture of this
disease. Some have treated it for n 11 ver
complaint, otliei s for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with success,
bccailso the lcincdy should be such as to
Hi v act harmoniously upon each onoof these
oigans, and upon tho stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the dUeasois) all of those organs partako
of this disease and require n remedy
that 'will act upon nil at tho samo lime.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like acharm
In this class of complaints, giving almost
immediated relief. Tho following letters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
inunity where they live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Ilarthlll, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend It to all
who may bo sulloring from liver or
Btomach complaints, lmving the testi
mony of mv customers, who have derived
great bencllt from the Syrup and Pills.
The sale Is increasing wonderfully.
Geo. A. Webb, 111, York btrcct,
Belfast: I havo sold a large quantity,
and tho parties havo testitlcd to its being
what you.rcprcsentlt.
.1. S. Metcalfe, 05, Highgate, Kendal:
I havo always great pleasure in recom
mending the Ouratlvo Syrup, "for I havo
never known n case in which it has not
relieved or cure'd, and I have sold many
grosses.
Hobt. G. Gould, 27, High Street,
Audover: I havo always tnko a great
interest In your medicines and I havo
recommended them, as I have found
numerous case3 of euro fiom their use.
Thomas Chapman, "West Auckland:
I find tlmt tho trade steadily increases.
I sell more of your medicines than any
other kind.
X. Darroll, Clun, Salop: All who buy
It tiro pleased, and recommend it.
Jos. Bilkwill, A. P. S., Klagsbridgo:
The public seem to appreciate their
great value.
A. Armstcad, Market Street, Dalton.in
Furncss: It is needless for mo to say
that your valuable medicines have gie.it
salo in this distiict greater than any
other I know of, giving gicat satis
faction.
Hobt. Lalne, Molkshnm: I can well
recommend tho Cuiatlvo Syrup from
having proved its elhca'cy for Indigestion
mvself.
Frlockheim, Arbioath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 2U, 18S2. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Seigcl's Syrup. T havo cty mucji
pleasure in still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory rcults of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Mostpatent medicines
dlo out with me, but Mother Selgcl has
had si steady sale ever sinco I com
monced, and is still In as great demand
ns when I first began to sell tho medi.
cine. The cures which have come under
my notlco nro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour,
lwod says it is tho only thing which has
benefited him nnd icstorcd him to his
normal condition of health nfter being
unablo to preach for n considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costtveness, or
constipation, finds that Mother Seigcl's
Fills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All olhor pills cause n
reaction which Is very annoying.
Mother Seigcl's Pills do not lcavo si bad
liltcr-uirect. I havo much plcasuro In
commending again to suiieiing human,
lly Mother Seigcl's medicitus, which
nro no sham. It this letter is of any
service you can publish It.
Yours very truly.
(Signed) William S. Glass, OhcmUt.
V A. J. White, Kbq.
rfV . . 10th August, 1881.
Dear Sir, I wilto to tell you that Mr.
Henry Hilllcr, of Yalcsbury, Wilts, In.
Jorms mo that ho eu (lured from a bovcrc.
lorm of indigestion for upwards of four
years, and took no cud ot doctor's modi,
oitio .without tho slightest benefit, und
declares Mother Solgol's Syrup which ho
got from mo lias saved his life.
Yours truly,
