WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
I.Ike n tiller at night it steals in upon
us unawares. Jinny persons have p'lins
about tho chest nntl hides and sometimes
In tho back. They feel dull mid sleepy;
tho mouth lias :i b.ul taste, especially In
in tho morn I ni:. A sort of sticky slime
collects about tho teeth. Tho nppotite is
poor. Tiara is u feeling Hku a heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
nll.gono tensatlon nt tho pit of tho
stomach which food does not satisfy.
Tho oyes nro sunken, tho bunds and foot
become cold and feel clammy. After n
while a cough sets In nt first diy, but
after a few months it is attended with n
grconHi coloured expectoration. Tho
mulcted ono feels tired nil tho while, nnd
sleep does not seem to nll'ord any rest.
Alter n nmo no iiecomcs nervous, irrita
ble, nnd gloomy, and has evil foic.
boilings. Thcro is u giddiness, u boi t of
whirling sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costlvoj tho skin is dry nnd hot at times;
tlfb blood becomes thick nnd stagnant;
the whites of tho eyes bocomo tinged
with yellow, tho urlno is sennty and high
coloured, depositing 'ii sediment alter
standing. Thcro" is frequently a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes with n sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
lasto; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with snots before the
eyes; thcro is n feeling ot great prostra
tion and weakness. All of theso nymp
toms nro hi turn present. It is thought
that ncaily one-third of our population
has tills disease In somo of its vnilul
forms. It has been found that medical
men liavo mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Somo have treated It for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but nono of tho nrious kinds of treat
ment havo been ottended with success,
because the remedy should be such as to
act harmoniously upon each ono Of theso
oigans, and upon tho stomach nswell;
for In Dyspepsia (for this is really what
the disease is) nil of theso organs pni take
of this disease nnd require n remedy
that will net upon all at tho samo lime.
Seigel's Curative Syrup nets like acharm
in tills class of complaints, giving almost
inimcdiatcd relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
munlty whero thoy live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, llarthill, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend it to all

J. S. Metcalfe, 03, Highgntc, Kendal:

Sept. 23, 1832. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Seigel's Syrup. I havo cry much
pleasure In still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of the famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
dlo out with mo, but Motlier Bcigel has
had a steady sale ever siuco I com
menced, and Is still in as great demand
as when 1 llrst uegnn 10 sen uiomeui
cine. The cures wliieh havo como under
my notico uro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint and general debility.
A certain minister in my neighbour
hood says it i3 tho only thing wklch lias
benefited him and lcstorcd him to his
normal coudltlon of health nftcr" bolng
unable to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend ot mine, who
Is very much oddictcd'tocostivcncss, or
constipation, finds that Motlier Seigel's
Pills arc tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All oilier pills cause a
reaction which is very annoying.
Mother Seigel's Pills do not leave a bad
aftcr-cllect. I havo much pleasure in
commending again to sull'erlng human,
ity Mother Seigel's lncdiclnis, which
aro no sham. If this letter Is of any
service you can publish It.
Yours very ttuly.

years, and took no end ot doctor's modi,
