WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Llku n thief nt night it steals in upon
ui unawares,. Jinny persons have pains
nbotit the chcsl and sides, and sometimes
in the back. They feci (lull mill sleepy;
the moutii ham bad lasic, especially 'in
in tho morniii;. A sort of sticky slime
collects nhout tliu teeth. Tho appetite is
poor. There is a feeling lil;c a heavy
load on the stomach; sometimes n faint
all-gone bcnsatlon at the ilt of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tho eyes arc sunken, tho hands and feet
become cold nud feel clammy. After a
while a cough sets in at flrst dry, bill,
after n few months it is attended with n
greenish coloured expectoration. The
allliclcd ono feels tired all tho while, and
sleep does not scorn to nll'ord any rest.
After u llmo lie becomes nervous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, nmi 1ms evil fore
bodings. There is n giddiness, n sort of
whirling sensation in the head. when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive;-tho skin is dry audliot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, the urino is scanty and hlgh
colourcd, depositing n sediment alter
standing. There is lrequcntly n spitting
up of the food, sometimes with n sour
taste, and sometimes wlth-n sweetish
jnsto; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of tho heart; the vision
becomes Impaired with snots before tho
eyes; there is a feeling of great prostra-.
tioii nnd weakness. All of these symp
loms are In turn present. It is thought
Hint nearly one-third of our population
hits this disease In some of its varied
forms. It has been found Hint medical
men have mistaken the nature of tills
disease. Some have treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kiduey disease, etc.,
but none of tho various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
because tiie remedy should bo such as to
net harmoniously upon caeli one of these
oig.ms, nud ui)on the stomach as well;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
tho disease is) all of theso organs partake
of this disease nnd require n remedy
Unit will act upon all at tho same lime.
Selgcl's Curative Syrup acts llko acharm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
iinmediated relief. Thofolfowlnglctters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
niunity whero they live show in wlint
estimation tho nrtielo is held.
John Archer, llarthlll, nenr Sheffield:

Frlockhelm, Arbroath, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1832. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you n letter recommending Mother
Selgcl's Syrup. I havo very much,
pleasure in still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Most patent medicines
die out with me, but Motlicr Seigel has
had a steady salo ever sitico I com

as when I llrst began to noli tho medl.

complaint nnd general debility.
A cortalii minister in my neighbour
hood says it is tho only thing wkicli has
benefited him and restored him to. his
normal condition of health after being
unnblo to preach for n considerable
length of time. I could mention also n
great many othor cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costlvcncis, or
constipation, finds that Mother Selgcl's
Pills nro tho.only pills which suit his
complaint. AH other pills causo n
reaction wnicu is very annoying.
Mother Seigcl's Pills do not le.ivo u bad

commending again to buffering human
