WHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like n thief nt night it steals In upon
tit unawares. Jinny persons have pains
about the chest and sides, and sometimes
In the back. They feel dull nntl sleepy j
the mouth hnsa bad taste, especially in
in the morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects about the teeth. The appetite la
poor. There is n feeling like u heavy
load on the. Btomach; sometimes ti faint
all-gone sensation at the pit of tho
Btomach which food docs not satisfy.
The eyes are sunken, tho hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
whllo a cough sets In nt first dry, hut
after a few months It is attended W 1th a
greenish coloured expectoration. Tho
nllllctcd ono feels tired nil tho while, and
sleep docs notscetn'to nllbrd any rest.
After u llmo ho becomes nervous, irrltn
hie,, nud gloomy, and has evil fore,
boilings. There is a giddiness, 11 soit of
whirling, sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; tho skin is dry nndhot nt times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urlno is scantynnd high
coloured, depositing a scdlmont after
stauding. There is frequently n spitting
up of the food, sometimes witli n sour
taste, and sometimes with a sweetish
. iaste; this is frequently attended with
palpitation of the heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with spots before the
eyes; there is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of theso Hymn
toms aro in turn picscnt. It Is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this dlscaso in some of Its varied
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Somo havo treated it for a liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but nono of the various kinds of treat
ment havo been attended with success,
because tho remedy "should bo such ns to
act harmoniously upon each one of these
organs, and upon the stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
tho dlscaso is) nil of theso organs partako
of this disease and require u remedy
thai will act upon all at tho sumo time.
Scigcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
In this class of complaints, giving almost
Immcdlnlcd relief. Tho following letters
from chemists of standing in tho com.
munity whero they live show in what
estimation the articlo is held.
John Archer, Harthill, near Sheffield:
I can confidently .recommend it to all

Geo. A. Webb, 141, York Street,
Belfast: I havo sold n largo quantity,

what you represent it.
J. S. Metcalfe, 55, Highgate, Kendal:
I havo always great pleasure in rccom

that your valuable medicines havo great

Frlockhclm, Arbronth, Forfarshire,
Sept. 23, 1882. Dear Sir, Last year I
sent you a letter recommending Mother
Scigcl's Syrup. I havo very much
plcnsuro in still bearing testimony to tho
very satisfactory results of tho famed
Syrup and Pills. Mostpatcnt medicines
die out with me, but Mother Scigcl has
had n steady salo ever since 1 com
menccd, nnd is still in as great demand
as when I first began to sell tho medl.
cine. Tho cures wlilch have como under
my notlco aro chiefly thoso of liver
complaint nud general debility.
A cortain minister In my neighbour,
hood says it is tho only thing wkich.has
benefited him and restored him to.hls
normal condition of health after being
uuablo to preach for n considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
great many other cases, but space would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
Is very much addicted to costiveness, or
constipation, finds that Mother Scigcl's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
complaint. All other pills cause a
reaction which is very onnoying.
Mother Scigcl's Pills do not leavo u bad
lifter-effect. I havo much pleasure in
commending again to suffering human,
ity Mother Scigcl's medicines, which
aro no sham. If this letter Is of any
service you can publish it. .
Yours vory truly.
