VHAT IS THIS DISEASE THAT IS
COMING UPON US?
Like ti thief at night it steals in upon
us unawares. Many porsous havo pains
nbout tlio chest anil sides, and sometimes
In the hack. Thoy feel dull nnd sleepy;
the mouth has a had taste, especially in
in the morning. A sort of sticky slime
collects ahout the teeth. The appetite is
poor. There is a feeling like n heavy
load on tho stomach; sometimes a faint
all-gone sensation at the pit of the
stomach which food docs not satisfy.
Tho eyes arc sunken, tho hands and feet
become cold and feel clammy. After a
while a cough sets in at first dry, hut
after a few months it is attended with a
greenish coloured expectoration. Tho
nllllctcd one feel 3 tired all tho while, and
sleep does not seem to afford any rest.
After a lime ho becomes ncivous, irrita
ble, and gloomy, and has evil fore
bodings. There is a giddiness, a sort of
whirling sensation in tho head when
rising up suddenly. Tho bowels become
costive; tho skin is dry and hot at times;
tho blood becomes thick and stagnant;
tho whites of tho eyes becomo tinged
with yellow, tho urine is scanty and high
coloured, depositing a scdimont after
standing. There is Ircquently a spitting
up of tho food, sometimes w itli a sour
taste, and sometimes with n sweetish
lasto; this is frequently nttended with
palpitation of tho heart; tho vision
becomes impaired with spots before tho
eyes; thcro is a feeling of great prostra
tion and weakness. All of theso sjmp
toms aio in turn present. It is thought
that nearly one-third of our population
has this disease in some of. Its arkd
forms. It has been found that medical
men have mistaken tho nature of this
disease. Some have treated It fora liver
complaint, others for kidney disease, etc.,
but none of tho various kinds of treat
ment have been attended with success,
becauso tho remedy should bo such as to
act harmoniously upon each one of theso
01 gans, and upon the stomach as well ;
for in Dyspepsia (for this is really what
tho disease is) all of these organs partake
of this disease and require a remedy
that will act upon all at tho samo time.
Seigcl's Curative Syrup acts like a charm
in this class of complaints, giving almost
immediated relief. The following letters
from chemists of standing hi the com.
munity where thoy live show in what
estimation tho article is held.
John Archer, Ilarthill, near Sheffield:
I can confidently recommend It to all

A certain minister in my r.oighbour.
hood says It is tho only thing wStich.has
benefited him and restored him to his
normal condition of health after being
unablo to preach for a considerable
length of time. I could mention also a
gicat many other cases, but spaco would
not allow. A near friend of mine, who
is very much addicted to costlvencss, or
constipation, finds that Mother Seigcl's
Pills aro tho only pills which suit his
