licious injury by exciting a dog to
bite, was remanded until moved on

gave the order to Smith for the
money borrowed, because he expect
ed money coming from San Fran
cisco by tile Mariposa. He showed
a letter from his brother, which said
that he was unable to send the mo
ney by that steamer, but would by
the next one. However, Jackson
borrowed $30 from a friend and
went to Smith for the purpose of
paying it back to him, but he
refused it, saying the matter was in
Mr. Dayton's hands. His Honor
found Wright was not guilty and he
was discharged. Mr. Russell ap
peared for him.
A native man named Kale, for
having refused to pay his taxes,
was sent over the reef to work out
the amount, S5.00, and S3 costs,
according to law.
