NlGOLL LACK.
Last evening Mr. Chas. II. Nicoll
and Miss Frnucc3 31. Lack were
united in the bonds of matrimony nt
Fort street Church by thu llev. K.
C. Oggcl. Long before the appoint
ed time the church was crowded,
man' standing in the vestibule, all
eager to get a good look at the
bride. In the church at the head of
the center aisle were three lloial
arches, from the apex of one of
which hung a marriage bell of eer-
giccns and white flowers. Under
this device the couple stood during
the ceremony. At 7 :30 o'clock it
was announced that the wedding
patty had arrived, and the oigan
struck up a wedding march. The
ushcrS'Wcrc 3Iessrs. G-. Koch, G.
Garstcns, K. AV. Podmore and O.
Swain; the groomsmen, Mr. II.
Wilson, 3Ir. E. Jones and Mr. J.
3IcGuirc ; and the bride'smaids,Miss
Dora Holm, Miss Lizzie Campbell
and Miss Alice Love. The biide's
dress was beautiful. The basque
and train (two yards long) were
composed of French corded silk,
cream white. Hanging from her
head was a veil of w hite tulle, w ith
a handsome wreath of orange blos
soms and white lilacs. She w ore a
bunch of floweis at the corsage,
some on the sleeves, and from the
left side of the drapery across the
front of the dress was a string of
beautiful flowers. The drapery
was made of real Breton lace and
the basque was trimmed with the
same. Gloves and slippers were of
white kid. After the ceremony the
bridal couple left the church to hold
a reception at the lcsidenee of the
bride's mother, Emma street. The
Royal Hawaiian Band was there,
and opposite the house were tents
for the evening's festivities. The
newly-married "couple will spend
their honeymoon at Waikiki and
afterwards reside at 53 Emma street.
Sept. 11th.
Mi.. Henry Harrison, :i clerk in
the Hawaiian Hotel, was thrown out
of a break while driving a spirited
horse to "Waikiki yesterday. Pitch
ing forward over the dashboard, he
held on to one of the shafts for a
few moments, and then dropped on
the road. He sustained but slight
injuries, but it was a very narrow
escape.
