THE FANCY FAIR.
The Chinese fancy fair nt St. An
drew's Cathedral Sunday school
room yesterday afternoon and eve
ning, notwithstanding the inclement
weather, was a decided success, and
the Kev. II. II. Gowcn, who had
charge of jt and worked very hard,
U to bo congratulated upon the re
sult. The schoolroom was beauti
fully decorated, and the stalls were
arranged so as to form a Chinese
street. In the evening when the
building was illuminated with color
ed lanterns the effect was very
pretty. The Hawaiian baud occu
pied a position on the Veranda of
St. Andrew's Priory adjoining, and
played during the afternoon and
t.'vening. A large nunber of fancy
atticles were on sale, and the
candy, (lower and refreshment
stands did good business. Follow
ing is the amount taken in at the
different stalls: No. 1, Mrs. Mack
intosh 8-17.20 ; No. 2, Sisters of St.
Andrew's Priory, S171.-10 ; 0, Misses
Lamb and Grace Robertson, $05.05 ;
4, Mrs. S. II. Dowsctt, 8100.85; 5,
Mrs. Wodchousc", S'10.10 ; C, Misses
D. Dowsctt and Severance, $101.05 ;

very large.

The American bark Amy Turner,
Capt. Johnson, left Boston July
3 1st, at noon. The first fifteen days
out had moderate to light winds
from S. S. E. to S.. W. and line
weather. Took the N. E. trades
Aug. 15th in lat. 00OON. long
41 W., had them moderate with
fine weather. Lost them Aug. 23d
in lat. 11 N.loug. 32A W. Took
S. E. trades Aug. 30th in lat. 4
N. long. 25 00 W. Crossed the
equator Sept. 2d, in long. 29 00
W. Had the S. E. trades fresh with
pleasant weather throughout. Lost
them September 9th, in latidute
21 South longitude 08 00 W.
Afterwards had variable winds and
weather. Oct. 1, crossed the paral
lel of 50 dcg. S. in the Atlantic.
Oct. 3, passed cast end of Staten
Island. Oct. 9, passed the meri
diau of Cape Horn in lat. 58 dcg.
S. Were 22 days from Cape St.
John to 50 deg. S. 80 deg. W. in
the Pacific with an almost constant
succession of head gales and high
seas. Were forced to CO deg. S.
latitude by N. W. gales. Were
fifteen days S. of Cape Horn.
Nov. 4th took S. E trades in lat.
02 deg. S., long. 85 deg. W. ; had
them light fo moderate with pleas
ant weather. Nov. 24th crossed
the equator in long. 120 dcg. W.
Dec. 2d, lat. 14 N., long. 129 W.,
took the N. E. trades, which car
ried us to port. At daylight Dec.
30th made E. Maui bcaiing S.S.W.
Had the N. E. fresh and bafiling
with plenty of rain. The Amy
Turner brought a cargo of general
merchandise and 15,000 cases of
kerosene oil consigned to Messrs. C.
Brewer & Co. She will dock at
Brewer's wharf to discharge her
cargo.
S. S. AUSTRALIA.
The Oceanic Company's steairlship
Australia arrived shortly before noon
from San Francisco with thirty-five
cabin and sixty-one steerage passen
gers, and 1554 tons of general mer
chandise. She left San Fiancisco
Friday, December Ctli, at noon, first
three days out experienced light to
moderate northerly winds, smooth
sea and fine weather, last four days
heavy trades with rough sea and
heavy swell. The Australia returns
to San Francisco Friday, December
20lh, at noon.

An exemplified copy of the will of
Thomas II, Foster, who died in this
city on the 20th of last August,
sent from the Supreme Court of the
Hawaiian Islands, has been filed in
the Piobate Department of this city.
Testator's wife Alary and L. A.
Thin ston are appointed executors,
who are to devote the income of
81,000 to the keeping of the public
cemetery nt Mnkilci, Honolulu. The
remainder of his property testator
bequeaths to his wife. The proper
