When Col. Norris last went up to

for six dollars, am two pea-fowls
for sixteen dollars, from tho .afore
said honorable gentleman. The
Colonel took the tin keys with him,
leaving the pea-fowls to bo shipped.
Arriving at Kaliuku and supposing
tho turkeys to bo civilized, says the.
Colonel, l ordered tho. feathered
ureaturo lo bo let looso in tho
orchard. Instead of doing what was
expected, tho turkoys ran away, and
when last seen were llvu miles from
the orchard. And as to tho pea
fowls ho nevor got them. The moral
to this yarn is that you can't always
count your chickens even after thoy
