opjircss the Hev. I'llilnr Is tlui fact,
that, after his ileal Ii, tho Kuv.

model of christian charily ami self
devotion. Why? To any right
minded, unbigotod, conscientious
man ot any ci cod Catholic, Pro

any description the answer is
plain. Why iliilil not thou or thy
brethren ,-o and do likewise? Tho
answer to lliis Insl query is easy.
Wo liavo our liomes, our wives, our
beeves, our fat things on tho Ices,
and wc do not whh to containiuate
ourselves or ours, in mixing with
persons alllieloil by the Almighty
with sore disease. Wc let an ig

and give up his life, and uhen he is
under the sod, we who claim to bit
followers of tho one who said. "Let
him who is without bin east the first
stone"--wo make tho memory of
such a man, a mud target for our
filthy a-persioiis. We stand aloof
like the Pharisee, we make broad
our phylacteries, wc are very parti
cular in giving; tithes of mint, cum

great and fundamental teachings of
Iliiu who wao tnn it of man, and very
God of very God of Him who snid,
"Judge not that 30 bo not judged,
for by whatsoever ye mete out, by
the same measure will it be meted
unto you." Let the Hev. Editor of
the Friend read nnd ponder the H!th
