Owing to an unavoidable delay in
landing paper and fixtures, the first
issue of our holiday edition of eight
pages cannot be made until Wednes
day afternoon. An announcement
of the scope and contents of the first
edition will be made to-morrow.
Saturday, Dec. 13.
E. A. Galaspo, selling spirituous
liquors without a license in Ewa,
pleaded guilty and was fined $100
and $5 costs.
Three cases of drunkenness were
fined $5 each.
Monday, Dec. 15.
Sixteen cases of drunkenness were
fined or left forfeits, and two offend
ers were dismissed with a reprimand.
A forfeit of 10 bail was declared in
a case of affray.

The entertainment of the Y. M.
C. A. Boys drew a good houso Fri
day evening, the proceeds amount

nicely played by Misses May Da
mon and Ruth Bowen. Recitations
were ably given by Miss Evelyn
Dexter, Mr. II. W. Peck and Mas
ter Harold Dillingham. Miss Le
Count gave a delightful mandolin
solo, with piano accompaniment by
Miss McGrew. Mr. H. A. Huff
gave a song. Tho programme clos
ed with a piano duet by Miss Adelo
WiddiOeld and Mr. Oscar Herolcl.

it before using. Next day the child

in case the child should expectorate
them, two days after a sudden fit of
coughing expelled them, and three
dried-up pieces the size of a large
bean were brought to me."
After that cure the doctor obtain
ed several others, but none more
convincing than the following:
"A little girl was dying; neither
cry nor the least sound could come
from her larynx; the pimples of
diphtheria were on her- cars, neck,
head and cheeks; her wheezing
breathing could be heard at twenty
"The doctor had secured a tube
to insulllate nitrate of silver into the
larynx. The parents opposed that,
but consented to make the child
swallow the sulphurated potion dur
ing the night.
"On the next day the child which
1 had considered as lost, was resus
citated the voice was restored, the
