cation to the agent of Crown Lands.
DESCIIU'TION OF LAND.
The Crown Land of Olaa compris
ing an area of 51,000 acres is situated
in the District of Puna, and extends
from tho crater of Kilauea to within
11 miles of the town of Hilo. The
quality of the soil is excellent and
comprises largo tracts of supeiiorland
of deep loamy toil. The now Volcatio
Road, now in couiso of construction
by the Government, aflbrds cheap fa
cilities of access to market. Nearly
all of thu sections uro heavily wood
ed, furnishing duiablu timber foi
building and fencing purposes. The
altitude ranges from GOO to 4000 feet
above sea level. Climate moist and
favorable.
The lands now oll'ered are valuable
by reason of their good quality and
accessibility, none of tho seclionc be
ing more than two miles fiom tho

them fronting on it.

During the process of deepening the
channel ut the entrance to Honolulu
harbor the Dredger will be in opera
tion night and day. At night there
will ho a danger signal placed on the
forwaid derrick of Dredger about 30
feel above eea level, which can bo seen
by all vessels approaching the harbor.
