storage battery has been doing daily
service 011 on tho Jefferson avenue
street car lino, taking and holding
its position without a single break
in the regular servico of that route,
and doing a 10-trip (or seventy
miles) stint between or.rly morning
and 7 o'clock, ovoning, each day.
This has boon done side by side with
trolley cars, taking traffic just as it
dovoloped, carrying as high asoighty
iiyo passengers at a load, and stop
ping and starting wherever and as
often as required by patrons of tho
road. This exhibit has been made
as tho beginning of an effort to de
monstrate beyond poradventuro tlio
commercial valuo of this storage
battery. That tho car did each day's
work absolutely on tiniest every
point of each trip; that, compared
with trolley cars, it was almost noise
less and remarkably smooth and
comfortable as a voluclo, and that it
was in every way superior to the
trolley car -are facts apparent on
