Honokaa, Hamakua.

barristers present were D. H. Hitch
cock, S. K. Kano and II. L. Holstoin.
Chas. Williams was Hawaiian inter
preter. In tho cases of Kailiuala, Kaaluu
honu and Kala, lined respectively
S100, $150 and S100 in tho Hilo Dis
trict Court, for violating Sec. 3,
Chap. 85, Laws of 1887, tho appeals
were uisiutsseil, not having boon per
fected according to law. S. K. Ka
ne appeared for all three appellants.
A uollo prosequi was entered in
behalf of Guilhormo Silvern, Portu
guese, who appealed against con
viction in Hilo District Court for
assault with a dangerous weapon.
H. L. Holstein for dofondaut.
In the case of M. G. San Tana, re
mitted to this Court 03 decision of
tho Supremo Court on motion for
now trial from Circuit Court at Hilo,
a nolle prosequi was also entored.
Defendant was charged with violat
ing Sec. 2, Chap. G7, Laws of 1888,
relating to liquor peddling without
license.

his guardian, vs. Mrs. W. E. Scott

Kano for plaintiff; D. H. Hitchcock
for defendants. In tho case of Mrs.
Scott tho jury rendered a verdict of
acquittal, three dissenting, and in
that of Mr. Scott, by order of tho .
Court, a unanimous verdict of "not
guilty." Counsel for defendants ex
cepted to tho verdict and gave notico
of motion for a now trial. Plaintiff
claimed damages for loss of tho sight
of an eye, by a blow from tho shaft
of a carriage driveu by Mrs. Scott.
Tho evidence made it clear that the
boy's own negligence had contribut
ed to his injury.
A caso of the native wifo of a
Chinaman deserting her husband
was discontinued. Hitchcock for
plaintiff; Kaiio for defendant.
Another charge of desertion
against his wile by a native was
dropped. Holstein for plaintiff;
Kane for defendant.
Kuhala Sugar Co. vs. Ben Keakua,
and Manuel L. S. Ports vs. Geo. Wil
liams by D. H. Pula, Deputy Sheriff
North Kohala, wore stricken from
tho calendar as belonging to tho
jurisdiction of tho lid Circuit Court.
D. H. Hitchcock, assignee Wing
Cliong Tai, bankrupt, vs. Ku Loon
and Clioaki, appeal from Hilo Dis
trict Court, was withdrawn.

fendant. A nonsuit was entored for
defendant, as the plaintiffs had fail
ed to produce any evidence that tho
merchandise in dispute had been
delivered to tho defendant.

was continued till January.
Kahouia (It.) vs. Maloka (w.), di
vorce. Kane for libellaut. Dofond
aut is a loperou Molokai. The Court
will graut a divorce, on counsel tiling,
with tho clerk tho marriage certifi
cate from Eov. Pahio.

ed on the ground of cruelty.
