tional banks to-deposit in addition
to bonds gold, silver and treasury
notes and certificate, and to issue
bank notes to tho par value of all
deposits in tho treasury.
The annual report of Tillman,
register of tho treasury shows that
in October, I8'.i2, tho value of regis
tered bonds which are supposed to
bo hold by persons of foreign nation
ality amounted to .'518,K)0)(XX), of
which only :jy,S:K),:HX) appeared up
on foreign lodgers. It is evident,
says the report, that a largo portion
of the registered bonds owned
abroad are controlled by agents re
siding in thiH country.

was revoked by the Board of Pilot
Commissioners at a special meeting
