PHK UNDERSIGNED HAVE BEEN APPOINTED SOLE AOENTH FOK
these Surkddbrs and are now prepared to rcccivo orders.
The great advantages to be derived from the ubo of tlio National Oahk
Bukkudek are thoroughly established and acknowledged by Planters
The large number of Planters using them in tlio United States, Cuba,
Argentine Kepublio, Peru, Australia aud elsewhere, bear witness to tbe
The uso oi tho Shredder very largely augment the quantity of cane
the mill can grind (25 to 50), also the extraction of iuicc (6 to 12).
It is a great safeguard, making known at once the presence of any I
pieces of iron, stakes from cars, or anything which would be liable to damage
the mill, and allowing ample time to remove same before damaging the mill. '
t The Shredder is very strongly made, and from the manner of its opora
tftfu it outs or tears these pieces of wood or iron without often breaking the
Shredder; and if anything breaks, it is simply some of the knives or cutters, i
which can be quickly and economically replaced. Tho Shredder, as its I
name indicates, tears the cane into shreds of varying lengths, perfectly open
ing it and allowing the mill to thoroughly press out the juices without re
quiring the immcuso extra power necesxary to grind or crush the whole
cane. The Shredder spreads tho shredded cane uniformly and evenly to
the mill rolls, and docs away with tho necessity of sproading tho bagasse by
baud between the mills, where ngriudiug is in use. No greater amount of
boiler capacity is required to operate the Shredder than that which wai
sufficient for the mill, for the above reasons. Wo furnish full working
drawings for the installation of our Hiirkddekh, enabling any competent en
gineer to successfully install and start them.
In orduring Hhkkdderr from us, plvaso send small sketch, showing the
diameter aud width of tho mill rolls with which Hiiiibddkji U to bo connected,
also tho side (either right or left hand as you faco the delivery side of the
mill;, upon which tho mill ougine is located, also tho height from floor line
to center of front mill roll shaft, and distatico renter this shaft to front end
of bed plat. Theso Shredders aro now being used by tho Hilo Sugar Go.
and Hawi Mill, Kohala, where thoy arc giving great satisfaction.
