How a Lot of Money Leaka Out.
What does a man do when he finds
a hole in his pocket where ho carries
his money! Anybody can answer
thnt question. Ho has it sewed up.
of course, directly, and good and
strong, too. I suppose it is with
you just as it is with mo. When I
spend money, uvon foolishly, I cau
tell whero it went, and may be I've
had some sort of pleasuro out of it.
But I do mortally hato to lose mon
ey; loso it out and out, you know,
and have no satisfaction from it, or
know how and when it left my pos
session. Well now, lot me show you the
worst aud biggest hole any man
ever had in his pocket; a hole that
lets tho cash leak away like water
through a siovo, a hole that is the
hardest in tho world to sow up. A
short story will show it best.
"Drummoro South Cottage,
"Musselburgh, near Edinburgh,
"September ICth. 1801.
"Gentlomon, Up to 1885 I waa
always strong and healthy. About
this tirno I began to fool bad. I was
tired, languid, dull, and listless, and
ororything was a burden to me. I
had no desire for company, and
what had como over mo 1 could not
tnnko out. My tongue and mouth
wore dry, and I had a deal of phlegm
on my stomach. The whites of my
eyes next became discoloured and
my skin wai yellow. I had no appe
tite, and after eating I had great
pain at my chost and sides, also
across my stomach. After a time
tho pain settled in my left sido,
and my heart would boat and
jump in a manner that alarmed
mo. By aud-by I got so weak that
I waa not able to go about the
houso, and I felt that I ought to
be in bod. The pains at my aide
aud stomach bocamoao bad that I
had to remoro my clothing (ovory
tbing seemed so tight), aud I used
to press my stomach and hold my
sides to try and ease the pain. Qot
tiug worse I saw a doctor at Mussel
burgh and was under him for throe
mouths, but his medicine gavo me
no rulief. After this I went to a
clever doctor at Preston Pans who
said I was stilToring from iudigoa
tiou and dyspepsia. Ho sent to
Loudon for aonio uelobrated medi
cine which was packed in small
phials. This mouicino Boomed to
dissolve my food, aud I felt easier
for a timo but I gained no strength
or real bouefit, aud after persevering
with his treatment for six mouths,!
gitvo it up aud fell into my old state.
1 next went to a doctor at Mussel
burgh, but all his medicines did me
no Rood. Aftor this I saw another
doctor (that is a fourth doctor), but
with the same result; none of them
gavo mo auythiug that reached my
complaint. I now lost all faith in
physic, for I bad spent a deal of
money aud taken so much medicine
that 1 lost all my teeth through it'
and was no butter for it. In great
misery I lingered ou month after
mouth, always ailing, whon in
August of last year (IH'JO), my hus
baud called at Mr. Jack's Drug
Stores, High Street, Fisherrow, and
told him what my condition was.
Mr. Jack gavo him au account of
tho wonderful cures he heard of
from many of his customers that
bad taken a medicine called Seigel'a
Syrup, and strongly recommended
btui to bring me a bottle. He did
so, aud 1 commenced taking the
Syrup, aud 1 found some relief from
the first bottle, aud by tho time I
had takou four bottles I was as well
aud s'.roug as ever 1 was in my life,
autt nave since kepi in goou nealtu.
I tell every one what Seigol's Syrup
has done for mo, 'I never thouaht
to got better agaiu,' and I consider
it has saved my life. 1 wish others
to kuow this, aud if by publishing
this statement it will be tho meaus
of helping others, as it helped me,
you can tio this letter as you like.
Yours truly, (Sigued) Jemima
Watson."
Look back to about the middle of
the abovo lotter and agaiu read
what the writer says: "I had spent
a deal of money for inediciuo." Yes,
aud money she could poorly afford
to spare. Illness aud the expense of
illuess is the great hole iu the pocket
that I alluded to. It costs so much,
and what does it givo us iu returuT
Pain, weariness, aud misery. There
is another cotifideratiou besides.
Whon wo aro ill we uot onlv have to
bear tho iucreased outgo, but man
age to meet larger demands out of a
ilouruased income. Our candle is
burning at both ends, "Yes," you
say, "but how cau we keep front fall
ing HIT" You cannot always, but iu
view of the fact that most iiluessea
arise from Indigestion aud dyspep
sia, a timely use of Mother Seigel's
Curative Syrup will prevent it. A
few shillings thus invested will save
pouuds iu money aud perhaps
mouths of wretchedness, Thiuk
over the striking poiuts iu Mrs.
Watson's excolleut letter and you
will thiuk tha same,
