Thero Is probably less coal used
here in private families than in anj
city to which that article is export
ed. The reason is plain wood is
cheaper and of better quality. Na
ture provides Hawaii nei with the
wondorful and rapid growing alge
roba and it supplies the fuol for the
people. Anyono who has ever visit
ed the neighborhood of Waialae has
been attracted by the forests of trees
of this description. People who
have gone there to inspect Mr. Isen
brg's ranch have marveled at the
caro and attention given the cutting
of trees for the market. As tho sup
ply cuts some of the ice in regulat
ing the price of a commodity so the
thousands of trees on Waialao Ranch
act as a factor in putting down tho
price of wood. Mr. Isenberg sells
wood cheaper than anybody else and
delivers it free in any part of Hono
lulu. Ring up either telephone and
got a cord.
If you've had any troublo with
your milk try some from tho Wai
alao stock for a month.

PROOF THAT LUCOL 18 MORE
Six years of actual use in exterior
house painting in California (tho
most trying climato for paints), in
tho burning boat of tbo Arizona Des
ert, tho Arctic cold of Alaska, and on
tho Atlantic coast, havo fully and
practically shown that Lucot, alwaya
outwears Linseed Oil under tho same
conditions. All tho acid works in
Han Francisco havo discarded Lin
seed Oil tor LucoL.
ILLUSTRATE THIS YOUR8ELF.
Put strong ammonia on Linseed and
Lucol paints. The Linseed paints
aro destroyed in a fow minutes; the
Lucol paints aro practically unaffect
ed. PROOF THAT LUOOL IS MORE
Break up 1 lbs. paste white lead
in ouo pint of Luool, and tho same
quantity in ono pint of Linseed Oil.
Spread tho paints on similar dark
surfaces for comparison. The Lucol
paint spreads as far as and covers
much better than tho Linseed paint.
To get equally good covering with the
Linseed paint you havo to uso 2J lbs.
of whito lead to ono pint of Linsood
Oil. This means a saving of J lb. of
paste lend to ouch pint of Lucol used,
or 0 lb, to every gallon, equivalont
to your saving moro than half the
first cost of tho Luoou
Lucol is not in competition with
cheap Linsoed Oil substitute.
