THIRD CIRCUIT COURT.
Calendar of October Term Oaiea,
North Kohala, Hawaii.
On Wednesday morning, Oct. 3,
1891, the court was opeupd by
Doputy Sheriff Pulaa, and an order
was read by the clerk, Daniel Porter,
postponing the term to tho 8th of
the month. In compliance with said
order court was adjourned until
Monday, Oct. 8, at 10 o'clock n. in.
On Monday, Oct. 8, 1891, court
was opened at 10 o'clock a. in., Hon.
S. L. Austin, Justico, presiding. W.
O. Smith, Attorney-General, and A.
O. M. Robertson, Doputy Attorney
General, for tho prosecution. The
following attornoys wore present:
Paul Neumann, C. W. Ashford, V. V.
Ashford, G. K. Wilder, W. O. Achi,
also Luther Wilcox, Hawaiian inter
preter, Chester Doyle, Japanese in
terpreter, J. W. Jones, stenographer.
The following is the calendar and
disposition of cases:
Koanini (k.), Palakiko (k.), Knai
hue (w.), violating Chap. 00, Sec. 1,
Laws of 1892, regarding segregation
of lopors. Tho Attornoy-Qonoral
enters a nollo protequi in the caco of
Keanini and Palakiko. Kanihuo
pleaded guilty and was fined $20
and costs.
Bon Paakai and Wailuu Kokaula,
adultory. Appeal from District
Court, Kau. Wailuu Kokaula with
draws her appeal and pays fine and
costs. Ben Paakai's case continued
to the April torm, Kau. V. V. Ash
ford for defendant.
Sam Haina and Lono, adultery.
Appeal from District Court, N. Ko
hala. A verdict of guilty rendored
in tho caso of Sam Haina. Sont
encod to pay a fine of $60 and tho
costs of court, $21.85. Lono with
draws hor appeal W. C. Achi for
dofendants.
Kokualo Hanohauo and Kaai Ma
haiolo, larceny of cattlo. Appoal
from District Court, S. Kona. The

Manchock. Ch. Selling spiritu
ous liquor withot a licenso. Appeal
from District Court. S. Kohala. In
this case tho principal witness for
tho Government being sick in Hono
lulu, tho Attorney Genoral asked
that tho case bo nol. pros'd. Grant

Oishi, Sugcnaga, Wcdo, Oda,
Egami, Kobalshi. Matnumoto. Re
sisting public niiicors whilo in tho
discharge of their duty. Commit
ment from District Court, S. Kona.
Tho jury render a verdict of
guilty as to Oishi, Sugenaga, Woda,
Oda, Egami aud Matsumoto, and
reccommend them to tho mercy of
tho Court. Kobaishi was found not
guilty. Counsel for defendants ox

of a motion for a new trial. Oishi
fined $200 and 21 hours imprison
ment. Tho othors woro fined $75
and 21 hours imprisonment each.
