A number of wearv-looking natives
arrived in a whaloboat lalo last
night. They were fishermen from
Kaunakakai, Molokai, and had a
boatload of fish. There were also in
tho boat four boat-wrecked indivi
duals. The accident occurred in
Two whaloboats left Kaunakakai
at 7 o'clock yesterday evening for
Honolulu with loads of fish. One
of the boats was in oharge of J. Na
hinu, famous for his travels across
the channel. Ho had never been
known to meet with disaster and ho
had made countless voyages from
Molokai to Honolulu. While- in the
Kalaookalaau channel tho wind be
came exceedingly boisterous and a
big wave swamped tho boat. Na
hinu and his throe companions swam
for the other boat, which happened
to be in tho near vicinity. They
were in tho water quito a while be
fore they were picked up quite ex
hausted. Tho boat and fish wont to
the bottom, nothing being saved.
