An Enjoyable A Hair.
If the gathering nt the drill uhed
last night wan composed of some
of Honolulu best people it was
simply because the company re
presents the -100 in the military.
The boys set out to make the shed
nnd the grounds more attractive
thnn they had ever been before and
they succeeded well. Not a point
for the comfort of the guests was
neglected. The rooms of Com
panies A and D were utilized as
dressing roomo for Indies and gen
tlemen respectively, and everything
for their comfort was provided. The
hosts of the evening, however,
directed their energies townrd mak
ing their own room the mot attrac
tive, and with the assistance of
their lndy friends tho spot was
made a perfect bower of ferns,
plants and llowers. This room was
used by the guests as a place of
rest during the intervals between
the dance.-.
The decorations and electric ef
fects in the dancing room were
marvels of good taste of the com
mittee and ingenuity of Theo.
lloffmnn, Superintendent of tho
Ilnwnnan Electric Co. The red,
white nnd blue globes forming (he
horseshoe and letter B were espe
cially attractive and beautiful. To
add to the stage effects, and as a
reminder of what the boys did not
have in the field last January,
there was at one end of tho hall a
tent. Around this were field pieces
and stacked arni3 set off by an
arrangement of ferns and palms.
This was an innovation that re
flects credit on the decorative
thoughts of at least one member of
Company B.
Prof. Berger and his orchestra
made merry with choicest selec
tions of dance music and marches,
and the (lancers felt that the pro
gram ended much too soon.
Among the guests present were,
.Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Hatch, Captain
and Mrs. C. S. Cotton, officers of
the Philadelphia, Colonel McLean,
officers of the N. G. II., Captain
and Mrs. F. B. McStocker, Mr. and
