Former pupils of St. Louis

under the uamo of St. Louis Col

improvement. Last night tho
socioty, assisted by present pu

ontertainment in the large hall of
tho colloge, in connection with
the tormiual oxeroises taking place
this week. Brother Albortdireoted

Brother Francis was piano ac
Thero.was nu audienco that
filled tho hall, and therefore
easily estimated at botweou five
and six hundred people
The performances of tho or
chestra and the choir wero most
I delightful, evidencing tho elliciont
tutorship of music aliorded in the
institution. A chorus with panto
mime, tho "Cautato of the Frogs,"
proceding a closing march by the
orchestra, caused uncontrollable
mirth. Tho roprosontivtions of
the croakers in a forest swamp
wero exceedingly clever.
''Tho Proscribed Heir," a drama
in three acts, wus given by J. C
Crowdor, Chas. M. Murray, A If
Rosu, Chas. Hose, Jas. A. Thom
son, Harry E. Murray, Chas. K.
Hopkins, Ant. Fernandez, Thos.
White and a number of "supts'
from tho school. Thompson spoke
his lines and acted like a profes
sional in tho comic part of Blaise.
Hopkins mado an oxcollenl justice
of tho ptrtco. Harry E. Murray's
address as a peripatetic quack
was very well delivered and sot
the houso in a roar.
Betweon tho aets P. Gloason
and J. Hansmann gavo violin
solos of wonderful power and ex
pression. In the second part Ed. Crabbo
in an excellent treblo sang the
"Wreck of tho Bosporus."
"Model Tenants," a fnrco, was
well done and highly amusing.
The characters wore tukon by
John C Crowder, C K Hopkins,
0 L Murr-iy, Wm .1 arret, Chas
lloso, H E Murray and J A
This was the first public enter
