A lottor from Tokio, Japan,
notified tho Board that a supply
of Dr. Goto's medicines had boon

Dr. Lindloy wroto irom Hawaii

him by natives residing in North

mildly BUggostod that tho kahu

trouble and thought if tho natives
wore to assassinate them and do

they would get along better. The
doctor concluded by stating that
kahunas wero groater enemies to
tho Hawaiian race thun lopropy
and demanding an investigation
into t ho charges mnuo against Mm.
President Smith stated that Dr.
Lindloy's territory was the largest
apportioned to any government
physician, though ho received
$125 por month, tho largest salary
paid to any. Ho suggostod tho
salary nnd territory might bo
divided botweon two phys'cians.
Dr. Day thought tho complaints

man to uttend to.
After a prolonged discussion in
"whioh tho mattor of physioians,
charges and tioatmont of natives

laid ovgr to the next meeting.
A discussion arose about the
Govorhmont dispensary. It soems
that some people go thoro for free

city known as Chinatown. Horses,
carts, stables, etc., would cost
moro(tlmn a thousand dollars, the
document sot forth, besides whioh
men would have to bo hired to do
the work. Arraugement had boon
made with merohants and resi

work done for them.
"It ifl an exclusive franchise ?"
Was u question uskod.
The president suggested that an
additional odorless excavator
should bo obtained, as woll as
enough more carts to romove yard

Mr. Reynolds spokoof tho mag

ho entailed if the Board should
undertake to remove all the leaf
fallings und treo trimmings in the
larger wooded lawns of tho city.
The presidont in roply Bind that
tho alternative of u sewerage sys

would have to be added an oxpon

tho lay of the laud, the mattor
