an official visit to tho institution.
Tho visit was mado without no
tico to tho officials and was for
tho purposo of sooiug how every
thing was going on and if neces

improvements to tho Board.
Tho out buildings, bath and
wash rooms wero first inspooted,
especially as to sanitary condi
tions, nnd woro found to bo oleau
ly nnd in good ordor and
supplied with abundance of water.
Indood, it must bo said right horo
that tho snnitary arrangemonts
throughout tho hospital woro ex
cellent, tho bath rooms on both
upper and lowor floors boing fur

all found oxtromely noat and
clean, tho instruments of torture
used by tho oporating physicians
boing kept in neat cabinets, and
an Assortment of splintB, bandages

Neatness and cleanliness seemed
to bo tho rulo throughout tho in

of tho nurses being visited by tho
committee. Trustee Cooko dis
tinguished himself by poking
about in cupboards and rooossos
in the vain endeavor to find a
cookroach, while Trustee Mackin
tosh had a nheory word for each
and all of tho pationts. An ab
sence of mosquitoes was pleasant
ly noted, as was tho medicinal
smell usually inseparato from
hospitals. The latter is accounted
for by tho porfoct ventilation ob
tained in tho wnrdB from the
numerous windows on oither sido.
Tho kitohons worogono through
and tho utensils and goneral
arrangements inspected. Every
thing was found clean and neat,
in faot, during the wholo tour the
committee found nothing to bo
remedied und but littlo to be im
proved. They will reaommend
that a ceiling bo put in undor tho
roof of the old buildipg. At pres

over tho smooth boards and raftors
andthe win to wash is continually
scaling ofl und making tho floors

A visitor's book is kept in tho

little interest is taken in tho hos

showing only one or two visitors
per month would naturally lead
to that inforenoo. Tho rulo re
