Ship S P Hitchcock, Gates, cleared from San
Francisco for Honolulu, Aug 26, Shu will
load No !1 sugar for the combine, to go to
New York. A cargo is stored for her at the
Oceanic 3 S Co's warchuuec.
The steamer Kilauca Hon returned yester
day afternoon from Kauai with about 81) Chl
nesu contract laborers on board which the
citizens of tho Garden Isle had refused to al
low to land. Tlio other laborers who were
taken on the steamer to lluwnll and Mau
were accepted all right.
The steamer V G Hall will leave for Ha
waii tomorrow morning. This afternoon the
ofticcrs and crew of the Hall will be taken
on" the vessel and undergo a thorough fumi
gation. The steamer will also be disinfected
throughout under the supervision of Port
Physician Day. The excursionists on tho
Australia will then be taken on the Hall and
probably some freight will be accepted for
ports on Hawaii,
The Oceanic Steamship Company's liner
Australia, six days from San Franclsco.pulled
up alongside tho Company's wharf yes
terday afternoon, at four o'clock, with 02 cabin
and 20 steerage passengers, 20 bags of mall
aud a light cargo of merchandise for this port.
Tho sttamer Is under a vigilant quarantine
which will be maintained until her departure
next Thursday afternoon. No freight will b
delivered from the wharf except perishable
goods until after the steamship's departure.
