Deak Sin: Yours of rccont dato in regard to tho "Secretary" plow has
been on my desk some days, but I doluyed sendiuR a reply in order
that I might sona somo photos which go with this.
Deoro t Company sent ono of tho plows, tho first ono which was com
ploted, to this station, and wo gavo it a vory thorough test in Dooem
borlast. Tho ground on which it was used was a field which had
nover boon plowed moro than sixinohos dcop, and which had boon in
rod clover for throo years, With throe good mules wo wore able to
plow tun inchos dcop without making tho work ton hard for the team,
und by working slowly a part of tho ground was plowed to a depth of
fourtoon inohos. Tho plow certainly does bolter work than 1 huvo
ovor Beon dono with any other implomont. S. M. Tracy, Director.
Mr. Tracy, in a letter to Deere & Company, says:
I havo nover Been ground loft in as good condition aftor the plowing,
tho furrows boing thrown so as to pulvorizo tho soil moro thoroughly
than can bo dono by an ordinary plow, and all trash and weeds woro
completely turned undor.
