journal of tho Melanesian Mission

that tho work of tho mission
grows upaco, and as tho Southern
Cross cannot visit all tho places it
has been decided to havo a
schooner to assist in tho work.
Mr. Noilson, a resident of ono of
tho islands of Florida, and a great
friend to tho mission, has agreed
to. lond his Bchoonor for work in
tho Solomon Islands. It is pro
bnblo that Mr. Edgoll, now of St.
Augustine's Collegp, Canterbury,
will join tho Molanesian Mission
during the year, having been
accepted by tho Bishop's Commis
Barios in England. Tho Row H.
Welchman, who is at Siota, in
Florida, will return to Norfolk
Island in Juno, wlion his mar
ringo with Miss Itossitor will tnko
place, and they will return togeth
er to Siota in tho second trip of
tbo vessel. Miss Eossiter is tho

faced tho climato and trials of
work in tho islands. Tho church
fplk will bo glad to hear that tho
Mota lictionary (Mota being the
language of religion, the vulgar
tongue of tho Molanesian Mission),
compiled by tho veteran Dr. Cocl
rintou, and being printed by tho
Society for Promoting Christian
Kuowledgo, will bo published
shortly. This book will bn 300
pages, and will bo of immense Bor
vice not only to philologists, but
also" to all missionaries joining
and having to mnstor the vulgar
