my retention absolutely necessary
to tho Administration. Only, as
1 told you, my knowledge of mat
ters that aro in process of settle
ment is required. Everything
concerning tho islands is the
samo as it was whou I left, and
the advices I icceivo from thorn
aio to tho effect that all is quiet
