Editor Bulletin: This morn
ing's Advertiser states that I havo
refused to take part in tho play,
"Under Two Flags," unless paid
fifty dollars for my own ond my
daughter Nina's services. Tho
paper also says that my sorvices
were volunteered gratis. Tho
first part of tho statement is cor
rect but the latter portion is en
tirely at variance with tho truth.
1 ngrepd to contribute my sor
vices for a monetary considera
tion, tho amount of which was not
agreed upon at tho timo. I got a
costume mado for tho part and
also some articles for my
daughter's. When we returned
from tho other Islands in order to
keep our engagement I agreed to
play for $42, threo nights. This
was afterward refused by tho
management and tho cuqagemout
ceased. The management now
refuse to reimburse me for tho
monoy oxpondod and for my time
spent in rehearsals.
