Mr. Tnguchi and eovoral othor
loading economists in Tokio lmvo
recently coino to a decision in
favor of tho Silvoritos in the
United States of America and wo
hear that tlioy aro Bonding a lot
ter to Atnorica addressing tho
Silvoritos in tho following sonti
ments: "Without least doubt tho econo
mical affairs of this country would
bo atTectod to a vast extent through
tho chnugo of tho relative valuo of
gold and Bilvor, whouovor the
scheme of tho Silvoritos in
tho U. S. A. bo accom
plished, that is, if tho silvor froo
ooinago be successfully enacted
by o'octing Mr. Bryan to tho
President. Wo aro not yet iu
timated of what step shall bo
taken by tiio silvcritos in ordor
to place the free coinage into
practice If, howover, tho froo
coinage be gran tod immediately
under tho prcsont circumstances
eveiy one who would lake silver
bullion to tho mint to coin will
realize ouo dollar and eighty
cents of coin with one dollar
worth bullion. Therefore, wo
presume, that the main object of
the silvorites is to coin tho silvor
under the control of tho Govern
ment and tho profit gained from
tho diiforenco of coin and bullion
shall bo Baved in the Government
Treasury until tho ralativo value
of gold and silver will becomo as
1 to 10; otherwise the free coin
age shall be reserved until the
silver standard system shall actu
ally bo established in tho U. S. A.
If tho affairs turn out just ns ex
pected, tho amount of silver to bo
importoil into America in exchange
of gold coin would bo much
greater than that amount of gold,
which Germany had purchased,
whm tho gold standard system was
first established in that country,
because wo aro informed that tho
gold coins amounting to $151,
301,143 are reserved in the Gov
ernment Treasury of tho U. S. A.
and S I55,87l!.4&) more aro hold in
th hand of tho American citi
zen at present, and boforo this
odd sum of coin will bo wholly
replaced by silvor coin tho rela
tive value of gold and silver will
surely approach, if not reach, to
the ratio of 1 to 10. Wo, accord
ingly, signify our general support
for tho scheme of tho American
silveritos, and in favor of thoir
views wo have come into a deci
sion a3 will be seen in tho follow
ing three clauses:
1. Wo deem that tho schomo of
the A motion n silverites should bo
largely effectual in removing all
abuses that may arise from tho
pro-writ system of tho gold
standard, and in facilitating tho
accomplishment of tho inter
national bimetallic system which
is holioved to givo a groat advant
age to the general commerce
'2. Wo aro already convinced
of, through tho past experience of
an advantage having boon achiev
ed unexpectedly when tho silver
value had fallen off, that the coun
try's oommerce must sustain a
severe loss when gold depreciates
aud silver rises in value. But wo
deem that tho now establishment
of the silver curroncy system in
the continent of North Amorica
aud tho due appreciation of our
standard currency aro tho most
promising affairs for tho long run
in the future of this country.
3, Tho single system of gold
staudard had greatly induced
Groat Britain and ltussia more
powerful. As all knew well,
Great Britain has oxtended hor
colonics in Africa and Australia
by adopting this system, while
Russia had opeued tho gold mine
in Siberia and sho has increased
tho source of supply of gold coin.
Hithorto all countries in Euiopo
hud combined to purchaso gold
bullion, on which we havo had
in null doubt that why thoy havo
yielded to the two powers of Great
Britain sod Russia to lot thorn
growtmoie powoiful.
Wo therefore deem that it is an
important behavior from tho point
of view in tho countries' inter
course that the Silverites in Amo
rica would propose to oppose to
the two great powoM by raiBiug
tho vamo of silver.

Our r s and Other Eyes.
Our I's nre just as strong as they were fifty years ago,
when we have cause to use them. Hut we have less and
less cause to praise ourselves, since others do the praising,
and we are more than willing for you to see us through
other eyes. This is how we look to S. F. lloyce, whole
sale and retail druggist, Dututh, Minn., who after a quarter
of a century of observation writes:
" I have sold Aycr's Sarsaparilla for more than 25 years,
both at wholesale and retail, and have never heard any
thing but words of praise from my customers ; not a single
complaint has ever reached me. I believe Aycr's Sar
saparilla to be the best blood purifier that has been intro
duced to the general public." This, from a man who has
sold thousands of dozens of Aycr's Sarsaparilla, is strong
testimony. But it only echoes popular sentiment the world
over, which has " Nothing but words of praise Xor
Aycr's Snrsaparilla."
