so far, the only persons selling it.
Fifty varieties of crockets

a better cracker if you search

HOW TO CLEAN STEEL.
Alfto to Uciante Hurt Hint
Get n (limit
I'ullrh.
If tho steel is enly tart'is-lird, nlmost
tbo best thing to upply Is rottenstouo
ond.gonp; it should bo laid on vith a
Eoft flannel quickly and firmly, and im
mediately bo polished with a leather;
but if there are any sicus of rust on tho
articles, try tho following: Dissolvo
one-fourth of an ounce of camphor in
nearly Jinll n pound of lard; when tho
latter is quito melted carefully removo
all tho scum, and when nearly cold and
set, mix with tho lard as ranch black
lead us will givo it a rich iron color.
Rub tho ornaments with this mixture
and lcavo them for 24 hours. Polish
them with an old linen rag and a soft
brush thnt will go into tho crovices. If
nil tho fenders, etc., wcro rubbed every
other day with a luuliei, uid onco a
fortnight with a paste, tliero would
never bo nny reason for spending inuch
timo over them. This applies to brass,
which loo-s m rcnnuknbly well when
it is cared for, and to objictionablo if
allowed to remain tarnit-hcd. Lemon
juice, puts! pomade, etc., uro good occa
sional remedies, but tho leather fre
quently used U tho best iu tho long run.
How to llt-muvo Stain From Marble.
Every lionel:eppcr knows tho stains
which will ciiiao on ninrllo washbasins
and tho trouble to which sho has gono
iu vain efforts to removo them. Some
times lemon juice, will tako them off.
Again ammonia may bo applied with
good effect. ,
If this will not moro them, a lit t lo
spongo may bo firmly attached to a
email htick nnd then dipped iu hydro
chlorio ncld, with which tho stain
sliould ho rubbed. As soon as it shows
signs of yielding tho marblo should lie
covered with water and all tho wet,
both ncid and water, rubbed off with
another and larger sponge.
This may bo repeated, if necessary,
bnt tho ncid should not bo allowed to
remain long on tho marble. To restore
tho lost polish nfterwurd, mako n pusto
with water of oxido of tin aud apply
with a soft cloth.
IIoit to Manicure Your Own Kails.
A woman' is judged by her nails, ns n
man's EtuuduiK and profession uro known
by his lint. Of coureo n yount; woman
from any of tho mauiouro establishments
will do your nails for tho consideration
of $1, but if you consider this too ex
pensive, or find it inconvenient to send
for hor always, yon can attend to your
own nails just ns well, and with an
outlay of $2.50 h.ivo enough powder
ongaline, emery boards, pastb and or
ongo sticks to last for a long timo.
Tho Augers should bo held for ten
minute.? iu hot water in which n bin all
mixture of rogewater and grated hoap
has been poured, then dried carefully,
and tho cnticlo pushed back, novcr cut,
until tho half moon at tho bottom of tho
nail, which is considered quito a vroilc
of beauty, is exposed.
Tho nails are then shaped, points bo
iug considered by tho ultra critical very
bad taste. Tho oral shapo reigns su
preme. A bit of powder is applied, then tho
pink pasto, moro powder, and tho first
polisher is used. A very exaggerated
polish is not desirable. After tho bauds
aro well washed tho second polisher,
which must not bo touched with tho
powder, is used. If there uro any stains
under tho noils, they may bo removed
by tying a bit of cotton on tho orango
Btick aud moistening it with ongalino.
