Tho steamer J A Cummins
transferred G10 bags or about 50
totiB of sugar from tboehip Kenil

The ship was loaded deeper than
insuranco regulations allow, so
that about 50 tons wore ordered to

be having tho authority to do so.
It is said that the draught num

The American ship Susquobana,
259G tons, Sewell master, arrived
this morning, having had a fair
weather passage of 2G days from
Kobe, Jupau. The report in Ho
nolulu a couple of weeks ago that
this ship was out 40 days was not
correct, therefore. All kinds of
winds, except those of the hurri
cane variety, wore experienced dur
ing tho voyage. There are 900
tons of ballast in tho ship. The
Susquehanna is hereto load sngnr
for Now York. Captain Sowall is
accompanied by his wifo and sis

the great Roauoke, which was here

new craft, having beon launched
at Bath, Mo,, a few years ago.
Tho SuHquohanna is very similar
to tho Koanoko, the only apparent
