A largo portion of space is well
takon up in this issue with in
formation of the progress of tho
schools of this country last year.
It will bo seou that tho expeuso
bus not increased iu proportion
to tho amount of work performed.
This fact ought to make
tho next Legislature graut
supplies for national education all
tho more cheerfully. The require
ments will of course bo much
greater than ever, and, at the pres
ent rate of growth of tho schools
in number and size, there ought
to bo a goodly margin allowed to
prevent embarrassment in tho
middle of the financial period.

Have You
An Account?
This is a serious question,
one at which fcomo finks tako

tho necessity of asking it.
Some folks deal near homo,
settle infrequently, never in

pay more than they should and
too often allow their accounts to
go Jong over due. If you don't
care wnat the tamily expenses
are it's a poor way to do if you
want to leave your children in
affluent circumstances when
you nro gone. Now it is quito
an advantage to have an open
account at a well-known house,
who can execute your order
promptly. Often persons say
they don't want an account and
will pay in a few days. But
wo cannot keop memoranda of
