For more than fifty years
has .T.ISKKY JJAV1B .FAIN
KILLER stood tho test
against all remedies prepared
to eradicate pain, and today
stands at the head of the list
among the medicines that are
so essential to keep at hand in
tho home.
It is not a now fangle r'emody
nor do the proprietors lay
claim to any wonderful revela
tion' of the ingredients that ou
ter into the manufacture of
this over popular remedy.
It is perfectly harmless, you
need have no fear of becoming
habitually inclined to its use.
For Colic, Cramps, Dysen
tery, Colds, and all painful
affections, a few doses will cer
tainly give relief. You cannot
afford to be without a bottle
in the house.
Your forefathers used it
and found it beneficial.
Why experiment with some
remedy that is new and its effect
on the system unknown?

Spain Nat Feared.
The statement made in London
and re oohoed in .Madrid that the
Hawaiian islands would .bo at the
mercy of the Spanish fleet in the
event of war between Spain aud
the United States is characteiisti
cally absurd. Spanish naval
strength in the Pacific is very
small, and even if doubled or
trebled would have more than it
could do to keep watoh of the
Philippines. As for Hawaii, the
Mouteroy could hold it against
Spain single handed, seoing that
the latter would have to operato
from its distant and always threat
ened base of supplies at Manila.

Kxnmplca to Jnpau,
It is pleasing to know that
China and Portugal do not intend
to protest against the Hawaiian
treaty. In this thev crive arntifw-
ing proof of their ability to mind
thoir own business, an art whioh
Japan does not yet seem to have
acquired. However, oven the
latter may learn in time that it
win take moro toon a military
walkover among tho peaceful
Chinese to make her an arbiter nf
